Things are really winding down. Of course, I found just a bit more room!!! I really want to fill it with Hanson's. since I have a long list from his place.!!! I figure I can get perhaps ten in it. Went to the close out sale for the amish run daylily farm , and actually got three Hansons there. I brought home Waves Become Wings, which was in full bloom, Spartacus Adorned(they gave me 8 fans) and Borg Technology. Also picked up Sugar Cookie, Siloam Leo Sharp and Little White Lie, already had LWL, but wanted more!!! Got 25% off, which was great, and they gave me generous clumps. Here is Waves Become Wings, with a bloom today in my front island bed.

Wheel of Time, from Maryotts opened today, this is it's FFO, the color is spot on, and I love it.

Here is Eyes on the Prize, that bloomed last week and is putting up another scape. It was from Maryott.

Beautiful Edgings, today's bloom, it has been going nonstop for me and still has a few buds left.

Kansas Kitten, just finished up today, it kept sending up rebloom scapes, this was my longest lasting daylily this summer.

Here is my prolif I took two years ago from a coffee shop, it just finished.

Here is a pic I took at that coffee shop!! No prolifs this time. I did look!!!

Here is Drop Cloth, it sent up a rebloom scape for me.

So, this is really off topic, but these three guys, that most likely told their wives that they were going fishing, spent the better part of the morning, standing on their boats and discussing everything from politics, movies, their health issue (didn't want to hear that stuff!!), to favorite foods, I was in the yard gardening, and I don't think people realize how sounds carry over water, and I could hear everything as if they were in the yard with me. It gave me quite a chuckle as I was gardening.

Bowie is doing great, he found a cool spot, on my leaf composting pile, that is in the shade in the heat of the afternoon. It is nice and comfy for him.

I was having troubles logging on to garden web for several days. I was still able to enjoy everyone's pics, though.

Looks like you have quite a bit still blooming. Think my favorites are Waves Become Wings and Kansas Kitten.
Your raised beds look great.
The free entertainment while you were gardening must've been a hoot.

What a wonderful slice of heaven you have here Cindy! Daylilies planted there will be so pretty! I LOVE Waves Becomes Wings, WHAT A BEAUTY! Love the shot of Bowie, can't beat that life huh?

Brilliant, Sandy! My koi have been very active lately, sometimes jumping out of the water, which indicates they're trying to shake off parasites. I've read that adding salt to the pond (3%-6% concentration) eliminates most common tropical parasites but has no effect on the koi. Has anyone any experience with this? Another question for you experts out there: Will the slight salinity have any adverse effects on my placostamus and goldfish who co-inhabit the pond?

Both of those varieties are fully evergreen in your climate so you should see foliage and perhaps even some signs of new growth. My Ascot Rainbow is beginning to set flower buds...... Compared to AR, Blackbird has not been proven to be a very robust or stable plant. They often don't last more than a single season and many local wholesale growers have simply stopped growing them. Too bad, as that dark wine red foliage is pretty stunning. I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for that but the AR should come back strong. As in my previous post to this thread, these are best cut back to the ground - the old flowering stem that is - after the flowers fade in late spring/early summer. New growth from the base should be appearing by then and that should remain in place all through the season and into winter.

LOL Jean...the "worm" will be a beautiful butterfly before long. Glad you enjoyed my photos. Thanks Connietn, I'm really enjoying my butterfly garden too, and am so glad the butterflies approve of it as well. :) Hi Renee, I've raised baby birds before too...been a while though. Tiny seems to be doing well, trying to fly a bit. Hopefully I will be able to release it back to the wild in a few weeks. Chris, Sherry Candy wowed me with it's FFO too. I sure do like it a lot. No, that isn't the seedling you remember. It was a Cherry Chapeau x unknown as I recall. I think this is it. As for the cat pics, I can thank my camera's super macro capability for those shots. :) Yep, little Tiny is a show stealer alright, and a loud mouth too. LOL Thanks lala...and nope that's not the way I feed Tiny. I mix canned dogfood with just a little water. Hopefully he'll begin eating seed before much longer. I think we've identified him/her as a Chipping Sparrow. Cindy...glad you like my butterfly garden..it sure is a lot of fun. Baby birds can be a hoot, can't they? Thanks Serena - just liver problems - have to go in for a biopsy and get bloodwork once/twice a week. Figures - I never drink alcohol - so why should my liver enzymes be through the roof. I'll update on one of Boxo's threads LOL when I find out more. Cheers, Carol

Wow, you sure have been extending your garden. I think Bowie is just plain tired from watching all the hard work you do.LOL

I was thinking about adding WBW next year from Curt. Nice pic of it.DROP CLOTH is very unusual. I don't think I've seen a bloom like that.

WHEEL OF TIME is super gorgeous!! I also like EYES ON THE PRIZE.

Those guys "fishing" look pretty funny standing in their boats. I bet that was interesting to hear those conversations:)

Just went to Maryott's wondering how I missed ordering WOT, which is sold out now.
I can see why I passed on in it as I didn't like the light peachy coloring from their photo, which looks much different to me than yours. I wonder if different soil makes a difference.

Everything is looking beautiful. You have really got your act together with that garden.

Sound really does carry over water, but I love your lake Our neighbor's pool seems to amplify it. It is almost like having loud speakers. Not always fun.

Bowie is one contented cat.

Cindy- Glad that you were finially able to log back on. I always really enjoy your pictures.

Love Bowie looking sleepy in his comfy bed. He certainly seems to really enjoy the garden. And what a hoot about the three 'fishermen'. Those guys are so funny.

Oh Cindy, I can't believe you found another spot to enlarge the garden :-)) It looks great and by the time you plant your new daylilies it will fill in really quickly. Looks like you had to dump soil in there to raise up the soil level behind the bricks.

I love the red coffee shot daylily and I love the fact that you were able to get it for free off a proliff. The clump shot in front of the store is great. No wonder you wanted to bring it home.

OOOOH loving WOT & EOTP & KK, I'm going to have to grab me some of those.

Cindy, is that recycled brick you're using for that dry stack retaining wall? What a cost saver!! More pennies for pretties! :o)

I have to thank you and everyone that posts pics from their gardens. I get a much more realistic idea of "real world" performance on so many cultivars.
