Sherry Candy is absolutely gorgeous.

I love the butterfly garden. I do remember the pictures awhile back when you were working on it. It looks great. I see all kinds of goodies in there for the butterflys. I think I see cosmos way in the back. And all the black eyed susans. Don't see any purple conflowers and they are loved by the butterflys here. I think I might see Joe Pie Weed and I know I see Mexican Sunflower. Missing are Both Butterfly Weed and Milkweed. With your long growing season you might want to try the Tropical Milkweed, it just keeps flowering until the frost kills it and its the favorite for the Monarchs to lay their eggs on here.

Also Butterfly bushes and Zinnias are great for attracting butterflies.

I was just thinking the other day that many of you have areas in your gardens that you've done as butterfly gardens while I just have my butterfly attracting plants scattered all over the garden.

Is that Dill or fennel that the swallowtail caterpillar is on?

What a funny little bird. I have hand raised tiny birds also myself and they seem to want to eat all the time LOL.

Rita, I have all the plants you named in there too, it's just hard to get them in a long shot. I don't have Joe Pye weed it just doesn't do well this far south. But there are milkweeds, butterfly weeds, zinnias, fennel, parsley, several varieties of coneflowers, pintas, a butterfly bush, catmint, agastache, and probably others that I've forgotten. :)
That's dill that the cats are eating.

I also love that Sherry Candy.Its gorgeous.Mighty pretty daylilies there,and I love the Butterfly garden.Its really pretty,except for the worm.It gives me the creepa.The little bird is cute.I have hand raised a lot of domestic pet birds, but never a wild bird.Great pictures.

I love your butterfly garden. Well, I love your whole garden, but this part is nice too.
I hope Tiny does well. We raised a one-eyed scrub jay a few years back. Winkie. Built a huge aviary for him. He hated it and wanted to live in the house with us.

I love this group of photos. SHERRY CANDY and your seedling are the daylily standouts for me. I remember a lavender seedling you posted either last year or the year before that we all fell in love with. This isn't the same one, is it? I didn't remember it having that large watermark.

Your "wildlife" photos are amazing. The two pics of the caterpillar in the dill look like botanical plates. And Tiny . . . well, that one does steal the show. No wonder he screams for you all the time. He evidently knows a good human when he sees one.

I think that is so cool that you are raising a poor stranded baby bird! I've never heard of anyone doing that but apparently others here have. I've never found one in need of my help, but if I did, I would see what I could do. Not real sure on this, but thought that mama bird eats worms & regurgitates it into the baby bird's mouth. Hope you aren't resorting to that, eewwww. What does he eat?

Great butterfly garden, and your seedling is gorgeous. Cute little Tiny, that's a nice pic of him or her. we raised a baby blue jay once, it was a lot of fun.

Hi Renee, I've raised baby birds before too...been a while though. Tiny seems to be doing well, trying to fly a bit. Hopefully I will be able to release it back to the wild in a few weeks.

Chris, Sherry Candy wowed me with it's FFO too. I sure do like it a lot. No, that isn't the seedling you remember. It was a Cherry Chapeau x unknown as I recall. I think this is it.

Thanks lala...and nope that's not the way I feed Tiny. I mix canned dogfood with just a little water. Hopefully he'll begin eating seed before much longer. I think we've identified him/her as a Chipping Sparrow.

Cindy...glad you like my butterfly garden..it sure is a lot of fun. Baby birds can be a hoot, can't they? I hope Tiny continues to do well and I can release him before too much longer.

Super great pictures ALL of them. I love Tiny, I would have never thought of feeding him dog food. Wish I had a butterfly garden as pretty as yours!!!

Thanks for the nice pics, especially Tiny. We have a crow that hangs in our neighborhood. He sneaks up on our deck and grabs a mouthful of dog food and drops it in the birdbath to soften.

Whoever said that Tiny was a show stealer was sure right...I was stunned with the CAT pic and then pow...it was overdone by a little cutie!

Thanks for mentioning that Myrt Webster is a good late bloomer, as I am always looking for late bloomers...on my list it goes.

As much as I don't like caterpillars, that's a wonderful capture of the Black swallowtail cat on the dill.
