Thanks for the quick replies! We're going to be gone until next Sunday, and temps in low to mid 90's until Friday. I had read the label thoroughly, it didn't say much -- it did say to avoid in hot weather, but not whether early morning was okay to apply -- I called Ortho and got a person that just read the label to me, and didn't know much about growing tomatoes. We've had so much hot weather, after lots of rainy days, that the choice becomes to either use something regardless of the heat, or watch the early blight go crazy. Mustard Seed, I couldn't agree with you more about the caging-- trouble was, after last year's bout of early blight, I was advised to clean all the cages with a bleach solution, and it was such a hassle to do that I got around to it late. . .but paid the price in caging late & the tough job that can be. Luckily, the plants seem to have forgiven me, and are growing well (except for blight on lower leaves that I'm pruning off). Where I really blew it was, not laying down some kind of soil barrier to avoid the splashing of the lower leaves -- I planted in a different location & thought I might not have blight. I guessed wrong ;-) We have laid down weedblock fabric though, and it looks like we might manage a season despite the blight -- the new growth looks really good. I did get a call back from my county extension agent after I posted this, and he also said an early morning application should be fine. Thanks again!

I have a little of everything in my house - they are all casual. My style is not formal at all. My LR drapes (a Pottery Barn paisley) are on rings and are lined. I can close them easily enough, but never do. My DR are top tabs just because I found a good deal on a casual heavy cotton with a texture in a sage color that I needed. It works for me. I don't usually like just valances, but they work better in my office because the desk sits under a window and I didn't want panels muddled up with all the cords,etc. I found a good deal on valances with back tabs. I never touch them and they hang very nicely at all times. I also have a valance on my kitchen window and they are shirred on the rod. My spare bedroom has light-weight white cotton shir-on rod pockets which suits the cottagy look I have going on there. I have white wooden blinds uner them. My master bedroom has white blinds with no drapes - looks fine with my "shades of beige and white". I think it mostly depends on the look you are going for, but also the fabric of the drape. I will NEVER have formal pinch-pleated drapes in my home in damask or silk. I love a good cotton or cotton/rayon blend.

Update: I called the guy at the stoneyard (the nice, helpful one), and asked him if he could track down a remnant of a dif. slab from my lot. He did, but it won't be cut until mid next week, so I won't know if it's white/dark/etc. until then. I made sure to get the info of that fabricator, and the salesman also was calling my fabricator with the info. I just don't trust my fabricator to be honest. While I was waiting for the confirmation on remnants from that guy, I called the owner and expressed my utter dissatisfaction. Overall, I'd say that didn't go well in terms of his responsiveness. I told him I was appalled that I was asked to pay the balance. He didn't think that it was that off-base to ask me to pay since they are out money too. (Mind you I did pay 1/2 my total so far.) I made it clear that I will not be paying the balance until the job is complete and right. He's trying to say something to the effect of "Well, how much isn't done?" As if that matters. The fact is it is not done since they made errors. I don't think he was too happy that I was attempting to track down a remnant either. I again noted that my 1st slab was sold, and that I had to settle on this slab, to which he says if I don't like this slab I should have never got it. (My point apparently went right past his head.) Obviously I like this slab, but I liked my 1st slab better. I tried to explain that my deposit was put down knowing I was getting that specific slab. I noted that I also had to settle on their sink installation or risk it looking worse. I was sure to tell him about my interactions with the saleswoman. I explained that she was treating me poorly, and I'm not sure if she just treats everyone this way, or just me because I look young, have a small kitchen, etc. He said they've never had a complaint about her (who knows if that's true or not). I told him I will no longer deal with her because I will lose my cool. So anyway, I tried to install my bathroom faucet yesterday, and guess what now? The holes are drilled a bit uneven, so when I put in the faucet and handles (widespread) there's a larger gap between the faucet and cold water handle than the hot water handle. Part of the problem is the mounting piece for the faucet that doesn't give much room to center better. I think drilling the center hole a little larger will be an easy fix... But, while attempting the install of the faucet, I got to look real closely at that counter area. Apparently when they drilled the holes, they lost control of the drill and the bit dinged/gouged the sink counter 5 times between the hot water and center holes! (They are rounded divots.) They are pretty hard to see in the photo, but in real life they are pretty deep. I just can't win with this company! I can't believe I can't find any reviews online for them (positive or negative). I am tempted to join Angie's list just to see if there's any. I'm still waiting to call the owner to explain my new bathroom counter issues. I just don't think this is going to go well. I am thinking about giving him the option to work with me or letting him know I will go ahead and get a 3rd party (BBB). I was ready to let them know I wouldn't even worry about the remnant, and I'd just use that left piece pictured above. Now I think I will wait to at least see the remnant; it's only a few more days. Any new advice?

Hi everyone and thanks so much for your thoughts. Ingrid, I hear what you are saying but I do think I would like the chairs to have the same fabric. While I much admire rooms with that slightly shabby, mismatched look, I feel like those homes often have great character and interest in them architecturally, so they can pull off that look more easily. My house, while nice and comfortable, doesn't have much in the way of character details, really. So if I tried that look I'm afraid it would fall flat. I've also been trying to keep the chairs from distracting from the bookcases and fireplace, and wonder if having two different fabrics might be a distraction. I appreciate your thoughts about the fabric, too. I will likely keep the herringbone awhile longer. I have about two weeks left before I have to return it. I also got a couple of samples. In looking at these photos, you can see that what looks like a solid green in the photos of the chair as is, that it's also a herringbone too. There just isn't as much contrast so it reads more like a solid. I like all of these too but IRL the herringbone has the softest feel and the nicest texture. Of the other samples, probably the top one is my favorite but wonder if it may be too busy (there will be two chairs) with all the visual clutter that is going on in my bookcases. Shee, you may be right about the camera. But I find the camera sometimes picks up an undertone that I can't see initially, and sometimes that can be a good thing. I think a lot will depend on what kind of accent pillows go on the chairs, too. You all are a great help when making a decision. It makes me weigh my options more objectively, thank you!
