First Casualty of Hurricane Fay

Well, the storm hasn't even hit yet, and one of my favorite plants is already a casualty. My 18", 7 year old (grown from a baby given me as a gift) madagascar palm fell out of its pot, roots and all, and broke cleanly in half.

I know it will come back from the bottom, but can the top be saved? I figured since it's in the cactus family, it will root.

Any tips for saving my baby would be appreciated.
