Slideshow of My Bloom Season

I updated my members page with a slide show of my entire daylily bloom season to date. Some you've seen but many have not been posted before. I only have a few that have not bloomed yet so might as well go ahead and post.

Hope you enjoy it. I've been told when posting this on other forums that if you have trouble seeing this you should clear your computer's cache by closing your browser and then if it does not show up when you reopen, hit the refresh button.

Ohh, I really enjoyed that. You will too even more in a few years, you'll wonder how you did all that! Very nice.

I agree with Darleen. Your temps are most likely too cool when the spike starts growing. Cool temps slow down the growth. Once the spike starts forming, try to give the plant warmer temps and the spike will grow faster. I run into a similar problem here in Florida. Mine live outside, they begin spiking in November as the nights cool down. The spike grows then we get hit with cool daytime temps in Jan/Feb. The spikes begin to stall and the buds stay small. As soon as the daytime temps increase, growth starts again. Very frustrating. I have 5 Phals now, only one is blooming. The rest are just sitting with spikes and buds. When I grew in NY my Phals always bloomed around January. But my house temps were fairly steady and they grew in large windows which were very bright. Hope this helps for next year. Jane

@Susu Very true! I was nervous about having a May baby myself, I lucked out that she waited until the end of the month. I can't wait until she' old enough to "help" me out in the garden. I did a little bit of weed pulling with her in the baby carrier a couple days ago, but it ended up killing my back after about an hour...

Oh no, Kay, so sorry to know you are so ill. Hop you get well very quickly now you are home!!! I looked up Texas Carnival Dance and Tavares Multicolor, both a lovely start to the season. I don't remember either of those before, but my poor memory ... So nice for me to see the bloom season starting for you, it is getting closer to me! Don't overdo it trying to get out to see the blooms though.

Wow, a lot of work went into all of that.But will be some thing to injoy for years to come.You have a lot of pretty daylilies and Iris.Love the llittle patio area, too.Thanks for the show and sharing your garden.

Glad you enjoyed it. I just updated the landscaping project slide show with a little more work that was done this year.

I just had to rip out part of my "north fence border" garden so the the well digger's could get in to get my dried up well going again. So, no good pictures of that in the late season. They are almost done so hopefully I can get all the daylily & iris, etc back in with enough time to root good before winter. When I dug them I left the roots as undisturbed as possible and just put them all in big pots so hopefully they will adjust quickly.
