I don't comment on these type of photo threads every often as I don't have time or don't get to view them all and don't went anyone to think I enjoyed just a few and did not enjoy many others, but Rita, your Westbourne Moms Cinnamon Rolls just sent me googling for Westbourne daylilies.

I was not familiar with Westbourne and would not have found it if not for this posting. And now I'm in love. I see I'll have to make another exception to my 'don't usually mail order'. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how many I can sqeeze in where and what I just might finally pitch out or maybe give to my mom (I could still visit them if I give her some older favorties) to make room for a few I just viewed from the site.

You ladies and gentleman on this forum are 'bad', you all just totally feed my ever growing addiction (as I plot against a shrub that if removed would give me room for about a dozen new beauties).

justmetoo- I just love Westbourne Daylilies and have many of them. I am glad to see that you like them. As well as her website Mary Jane does sell many on the Lily Auction so if you ever buy there, prices start much lower than listed on the website. Search for seller 'Bubbles'. She has a bunch of them up now but not W. MOMS CINNAMON ROLLS.

Rita, Your photography is improving with each group of pictures you send. Some really great shots here! Thanks for helping us all become more familiar with Bryan Culver's and Mary Jane Meadows cultivars too. I had not really heard of her cultivars until you began mentioning them last year. As a result, I'm happy to say that I wrote her and she submitted some of her cultivars for this years Awards ballot.
PARADISE CITY has been here for years and has never bloomed later that ML season! Lucky you to have it blooming now.

I am glad that Mary Jane is getting more widespead recognition. There are so many fabulous lesser known hybridizers out there who's flowers do deserve to be in many more gardens. People north of the mason-dixon line that only grow deep southern hybridized daylilies just don't know what they are missing.

Rita - Great shot of Paradise City! Mine finally bloomed late too. I'd had mine for at least four years. The first year it bloomed EM, the next couple years midseason, and this time late. A lot of my lates that never bloomed late did so this time. I was the most surprised by Uptown Girl, which has bloomed EM for the four previous years.

Sellstation Carnival caught my eye because it looks so much like one of my seedlings garden named "Punkin Eye." I checked out Sellstation Carnival and see it is registered as a VL. I was going to trash or give away my seedling since it has none of the characteristics for which I'm hybridizing. It blooms EM, and so far has not rebloomed. A dormant, Punkin Eye has a 5.5-inch flower on 26-inch scapes with four-way branching and 14 buds per scape. If fertilized and in a good rain year, it could have 6-way branching and more buds (the bracts are there on the scapes.) The parents are Strawberry Candy and Decatur Cherry Smash. It is such a vigorous multiplier that I hesitate to move it to my hot colors bed. But after seeing Sellstation, maybe I should reconsider. What do you think?

Debra- I think its very pretty and those hot colors would certainly get my attention if I was walking around your yard and daylilies. If you have room for it, why not keep it? It doesn't deserve to go in the compost pile, thats for sure!

So many lovely ones today it's hard to pick favorites, but I think I'll go with Diamond Executive and Final Destination.

Thanks Rita! I guess I'll hang on to at least part of Punkin Eye for another year. It has grown so vigorously it's covering up several other seedlings and preventing them from blooming. It has nine fans, while most of my other seedlings have only one or two fans.

Debra- But that's another good thing. Proves it's a strong grower and really wants to be in the garden. I realise its not the fanciest flower but it's very appealing. At least to my taste. It's too bad it doesn't rebloom.

Beautiful shots Rita! I love PARADISE CITY. Your roses sure are looking good. The only roses I have are KO's and they seem to never stop blooming.

As I sat out on my swing looking at my flower beds, I was sad that the season is almost over. It seems like it just got started.

Then I open up your thread and see all these beautiful blooms and I realize that my season has just been extended thanks to everyone here.

ON LINE would be my favorite of the bunch, but SELLSTATION CARNIVAL is so bright I love it too.

It's nice that your roses are picking up where your daylilies left off. You will have something blooming for many more weeks to come. Do you have any crape myrtles? I love them because they bloom a little later in the season.

Michelle- Thats the point and good part about Knockouts, they do just keep right on blooming. If you want another single rose a nicer real red than Knockout, look into HOME RUN. Related to Knockout, by the same hybridizer with even better desease resistance.

Vickie- I have one Crape Myrtles. Its ok but I will not be planting any more. I do have spring flowering shrubs like lots of Azealeas but mostly prefer my shrubs to flower and then produce fruit. Either the kind for us people to eat or to attract the backyard songbirds.

You really need to add late bloomers. Last year along about this time of year I was so depressed that bloom season was over. This year have alot more late bloomers so something is still going on in the daylily gardens. Keeps me happy. Plus I am so busy with my moving of daylilies projects which gives me something daylily wise to focus on.

So many gorgeous ones here. I love Moms Cinnamin Rolls and Final Destination! And your roses are just beautiful!

They are all just beautiful,Rita, but my favorites here in this bunch is DIAMOND EXECUTIVE and FINIAL DESTINATION,and PARADISE CITY is really pretty, too, and your roses are gorgeous and very healthy looking.
