Comments (6)Chamomile is generally considered a very safe herb, but even 'safe herbs' are not good to take to excess or too frequently without the advice of a medical or herbal professional practioner. They are drugs, you know! And effects may be accumulative. Why not consider sprinkling some lavender oil on your pillow - it will relax and help you sleep and you don't swallow it. Further warnings about chamomile: Sufferers of allergies to daisies, ragweed asters or chrysanthemums should avoid using chamomile. In cases of fragile pregnancy, chamomile should be avoided as it will promote a delayed menses. It may cause stomach upsets in some people....See MoreWhere to get plant for chamomile tea?
Comments (3)If you have chamomile tea in your cupboard right now, sprinkle some over some potting mix or seed starter. There's probably seed in it. A few years ago, I was seed sowing inside and decided to mix a bag of chamomile tea into the starting mix instead of watering with the tea(to prevent damping-off). I don't remember how it worked for the DO, but I had chamomile sprouting like crazy in all my pots!...See Morechamomile tea(damping off)
Comments (3)I grow a lot of plants at a time.A couple quarts of water doesn't go far...I have to add water to the tea as I go along or it wouldn't be enough tea to water them all at one time. It gets diluted really fast. I start 300 or so plants at a time 2X a year and I seem to have something new sprouting all the time. Here I can grow year round....See Morejust harvested lots of castings....how do I store them?
Comments (6)LOl... I am so happy!! I usually throw my wet used tea bags in my bin. Once I checed them the next day. They were full of tiny baby worms. I am planing on adding my wet tea bags on top to catch any babies. Since I have about a month I have plenty of time. I also added a small half of a frozen watermelon I have been saving in the freezer to my bin. Parts of the bin in the middle were very dry. I hope the large addition of food does not kill my bin. I put lots of shredded paper (mixed some finished vc in there too) I had castings all along and never realized it since my bars were too close. Before if I checked down there baby worms were all over. Now none that I could see. I did not see cocoons but I bet some were there. I will catch those babies. At least they can keep my VC going till I use it. Thanks! Karen...See Morehabman
