Some new seedling pics to share

Hi all, We are entering into peak bloom here and boy have I been busy. Between pollenating in the mornings and the regular maintenance.....well sometimes it's hard to know whether I'm coming or going. I have been trying to check in with new posts in the morning, but don't always have time to post back.

The seedlings have put up lots of scapes this year. I thought I'd share a few of my favorite blooms with you.

Very nice seedlings. I especially like the pink one and the blue eyed one.

Very nice seedlings.....my favs are the 7th one and the last one.....if those two don't make the grade with you, just toss them my way...I'd love to have them growing in my garden. :)

Hello all! Now Petrushka, I must say AMAZING and you must love every plant you have just as much as they love you:-) It shows. Toni! How do you do that????You got your Aloe to flower and I too have been trying for years. Nice job and did I tell you how much I love your pictures, here, and in your Flicker account?:-) Look at those pretty flowers !! Purple, are you still following this? Purple? What in the world is that most handsome plant you posted on Nov 6 at 18:06~ That very very red stemmed one? Is that really a Cordyline? I never saw on that red or that vivid. Very nice. Stush...You know I feel the same about you too. You are a good man and very kind:-) Elkay!@ !!!!!!! What do you want to trade for a pup of the most white San's on the right??????? Just ask, and you shall receive! If you ever want to, please let me know. I have a fondness for that color and that one. I love it Elkay! Thank you for sharing with me since you know I love that type of variegation!:-) Shoot! What a cute family of plants you have there. So many different kinds. Oh, it would be so nice if you could just leave them there in good light, right. So nice:-) What's the dark leaf one in the far right corner.?

Karyn, the potato bushes i have (3 total) are grown from cuttings, so they are blooming despite their small size. Im going to train them into standards. we'll see how it goes. I agree about picking fruit from your own trees. I live in the central valley of Cal, and we are the largest fruit and produce growing region in the US. I am literally surrounded by endless fields of almonds, peaches, pears, pomegranates, plums, apricotts, figs, citrus, persimmons, plums, cherries, cantaloupes, table grapes, raisin grapes, wine grapes, watermelons, tomatoes, peppers, string beans, squash, carrots, lettuce, strawberries, raspberries...you name it, its grown comercially here. There is such a surplus of produce in the summertime that you cannot get rid of your excess fruit if your life depended on it because everyone has access to their own fruit. All that to say that it is WAY better when you can walk outside and pick produce from your own plants.

Jan, I like em' big too!! That is a ffo on the first seedling and it has several buds so I will see what happens to it! I had Breed Apart..I didn't like the stippling and it never bloomed well for me..I sold it out.. People are different, even daylily nuts like us. There are some that I just can do without as I'm sure it's the same for you. I don't like Mini's very much but I do have several. My favorites are the seedlings I have that are from some of the Siloams.. You've seen some. I have one blooming now that is out of 2 large dls and it's going to the woods. I kept it this long because I really don't have many blooming!! I drove about 25 miles south yesterday to a friend and she has a yard full of blooms. Some of the same ones Ithat I have! LOL!! LLF is new to me this year! I won it on the auction and I think I love her. She a suttle one and is supposed to have a silver edge which I don't see yet! Remember how Bird Talk looked when I got it? It was horrific but really shaped up! Julia, I have always been pleased with my Spacecoast daylilies. They seem to do pretty well for me and as for beauty, you can't beat um'.. I have around 20 I guess!! I don't know how they will do in your are though... Thank you both!!! Ellie

Neil - that is quite the set! And what a deal you got on it! $150 off, nice job! However, I wouldn't know what to do with all those attachments! Although I am sure I could find something. As for the drill bits, Rina is correct, they are specialty bits. I actually found mine back by where they sell tile, not by the drill stuff. And mine is like the first picture, not the second. Its circular with a hole in the middle. I keep water on it while drilling, and gentle pressure. You have to be patient! Also, I think the water may be the cause of my drill giving out on me. The chuck was stuck. I could not get it to move for nothing! I tried CLR (I noticed some rust inside of it). I also tried WD40. I could've just replaced the chuck but I couldn't get the hex screw driver down the middle. The chuck was stuck with a bit in it. :-( And MsGreenFinger - thank you for the information! I tried a taste of it alone, and I did not like it!!! So I don't know if I would like anything with just sage (e.g. tea, mouthwash, etc.) but I am going to try it on some pork soon, and maybe even some chicken. :-) Deva

All your seedlings are very pretty, but the last one, with the pink eye and edge is outstanding. I'd buy it in a second since I love pink eyes. What a nice job you've done. Thanks for sharing,

They are all fabulous, I can't pick a favorite from any of these, they are all too nice. :) I wish I had the time to pollinate more flowers, by the time I get home from work, it's too late, or the ones I would like to cross with each other aren't blooming at the same time. Oh well. I guess fewer seeds means fewer seedlings to have to build beds for. Thanks for sharing!

All of these are gorgeous, but I really love the fifth one with the two red tones. The last one is so eye-catching!

My faves were the last three, esp. the last one with its delicate rose eye and edge.
