This site has some great info/photos and if you'll notice the second paragraph refers to Ismene as the Peruvian Daffodil. All I know is that through the years I've ordered both Hymenocallis and Ismene from various dealers but none match the beautiful Hymenocallis which I got years ago from a lady advertising in the Georgia Farmers' Bulletin...unnamed and by the time it bloomed (and I wanted MORE!) I had misplaced her address. Hope you have better luck identifying yours. They are all beautiful but some more so than others. And as for the "Peruvian Lily or Daffodil" I've been somewhat disappointed with the Ismenes I've received. The foliage isn't as glossy or sturdy and the flowers not as long lasting as the Hymenocallis..but it might have been my growing conditions or the particular cultivar. josh Here is a link that might be useful: Hymenocallis

On the eastern seaboard, Ismenes tend to be sporadic in their blooming because of erratic rainfall patterns; they're used to very definite wet/dry seasons, such as in a Mediterranean climate. 'Sulfur Queen' is the only selection that blooms fairly reliably for me in the ground. Festalis and 'Pax' bloom pretty well if the bulbs are either grown in pots and stored dry on their sides for a few months or lifted and stored for the winter, but just make big clumps of foliage when left in the garden all year. I've also found that for most amaryllids deeper planting keeps the bulbs from splitting as much, which in turn promotes flowering (since the plants can't reproduce vegetatively, they attempt seed production), but this may not be true of this group of Hymenocallis.

Yes, I have grown Peruvian daffodils. You can plant them after the risk of all frost is gone and they will bloom about end of July early Aug. They are fast growers once they start. They must be lifted in the fall. Sierra

Lin, Hymenocallis galvestonensis sounds like it would be fun to grow, but it says below that it doesn't like alkaline soil so unfortunately that lets me out. Oh well, it would be great for those with acid or more neutral soil than I have.
