These are normally divisions of plants to sellers, or resellers, bought from the hybridizers. This is the case most all of the time. The TC ones, tissue culture, are usually not as new. Normally there are occassional posts about which ones are TC'ed. On the auction, my view is that 99% are true divisions. Some of the older ones may be TC. Just my view.

If I buy any named AHS registered daylily regardless of were I bought it, I can grow it in my garden and then when the plant has increased I can now sell as many fans as I have. Thats what most of the sellars on the Lily Auction do although sometimes the actual hybridizer will put up a listing.

Yes, they are divisions of divisions of divisions (and so on) of the original plant. That is the ONLY way to get more of any particular daylily. Daylily seeds each make something new, not copies of the mother plant. Tissue culture as I undestand it is only done by the sources for the big box stores. They also sell unnamed seedlings on the Lily Auction but they are in a separate Catagory.

Thanks for the compliment on the raised beds. I really didn't have much choice but it do it that way since I wanted useable garden space in those areas that used to be too much downhill slope. The upstairs backyard planter plateau was not created by putting those blocks on level ground and then filling in with soil but rather it was created by cutting into a downward slope until the back part butting against the cinder blocks reached level ground and then filling in the front to make it all one big even garden bed.

I have a down slope to my main cabin---the blocks gave me the idea to try something like that with stone- being clever w/space is great!
I have flat land too---but I like the look your getting---it it excessble for working and weeding?
