The Lemon seedlings are doing wonderful! They're growing very fast. They did fine after I uncovered them. I think this was partially thanks to the fact that I mist all of my plants 4-5 times a day. I fear they'd burn without it, but they love the sun. About a week ago, I did have to give the wandering jew a haircut. You can't even tell now. I started another pot. I couldn't stand to throw away all of those stems. The bigger spider also has a few new shoots. All of the plants are sending off runners. Too many to deal with! Linda, along with the daily misting, I add a tiny bit of water to the soil. Although it's quick draining soil, I never let it dry. With the heat in the 100's, I have to water every day, so I don't know what it's like in your zone. Thanks for all of the kind words!

You can keep weeds out of your lawn with a good healthy properly cut lawn. The height of your lawn is the major factor. For the most part keep it tall unless your like me and have grasses similar to bermuda which needs to be cut low. Also you can apply corn gluten meal(CGM) as a pre-M for your lawn. It is high in N so you want to watch it unless agian you have bermuda which is a N hog. I went by the local Lesco Dealer to look at one of their sprayer rigs and asked if they had any organic materials. They baulked at me and said that organics was too expensive and to much work. Thats your retailer of synthetic lawn care. They aren't going to support anything that will keep them from making money. Good Luck,

Item #4, with the fancy brass pull, looks more like something called a "half commode" to me. The glass knob is almost certainly a later replacement, since it's a rather disastrous combination with the large brass pull on the drawer. A chamber pot would have been kept in the lower section with the door for use in the bedroom at night. Remember, many homes did not have indoor plumbing until the 1920s, and in cities it was not uncommon for several apartments to share a single toilet! (Chair-type commodes are much less common, possibly because they were less efficient uses of space.) In many commodes this cabinet section would have been lined for cleanliness with tin, enameled metal, or even marble in very fancy ones, but often they were just painted or varnished. As a comparison for overall shape, here is another half commode: They do indeed make excellent nightstands, and you'll often find them labeled as such in antique shops and on eBay. Sometimes people will retrofit a shelf inside the cabinet section to make it a more useful space. Hi again.. Thank you for your comments... natesgram..The screen door I have is at least 20 yrs old..It is bent and tweaked so it needs to be replaced...so I'm leaning towards a black screen door. If it was in good shape I would try painting it black..that's a really good suggestion that maybe someone else will benefit from. meowzer..I really like having a screen door to let a breeze in. I live in Southern Calif. and it's pretty warm all year round...so eliminating the screen door is not an option for me. (Sigh) I really love a pretty front door and I think the screen isn't very attractive, but it's all about function here. Coco and RM...Thank you for posting pictures of your doors..Absolutely LOVE the look of both! I think that seals it for me. gilly...thanks for the vote of confidence. As to the suggestions of purple...I think my 84 year old neighbor would call City Hall on me for sure. She's the neighborhood police, if you know what I mean. KA:)

Love that color! I like that better than the cooler blues and lavenders. I am sure it is not hardy to my zone though!

Mine look bad...REAL BAD.........
We've experienced a drought and could only water once a week, according to our house numbers.
I pruned mine the other day...hard!...raked and re-mulched, then fed and watered well.They'll spring back...they always do. :)

Nice pics guys, here is a pic of a hibiscus that I sort of inherited, not sure of the variety. Pruned in February so no blooms yet, but its healthy.

My hardy hibiscus doesn't have many stalks, in fact, just one that is branching out for the first time this year. Not sure of the best method for growing it, but it's better than last year. I have LOTS of trouble with the little green worms on the underside too. I'm letting one of the pods go to seed to see if I can get more stalks in the future.

The other hibiscus' shown above are gorgeous, sure wish I could plant those in my zone!
