ordered from bakercreek 4 days ago...how long?

Bakercreek doesnt say how fast it ships seeds. I was wondering if they will take 6 weeks to get here or will they ship immediately?

Depends on how busy they are Kristie.

I usually get an order in a couple of weeks.

But I always order what I want way before it's needed and I always wait for the new catalog/website to go out/up for the next year so I can see what the new additions might be. I do t hat with all places I order from so I'm not a year behind on "cutting edge" heirloom veggies. LOL

I like that ... "cutting edge" heirloom veggies ... there's a name for that, isn't there, when you use an apparently contradictory combination, but my high school English is so far back that ... need I say more.
Reminds me of that Simone de Beauvoir novel Une mort trÃ¨s douce which is translated as An Easy Death, about her mother's death from cancer.
Oooooh! I just creeped myself out. Sorry.

The sampler turned out ok. Nothing commercial size really but about the largest about the size of a baseball, most more like tennis ball. Good single use size. Still a big improvement from the super tiny onions from the set last year. I bought their recommended granular chemical fertilizer used per their directions... I think it was a waste of money and I will use organic ferts like everywhere else next year and I think they will do better. The Walla Walla did the best. I am considering growing onions from seed next year. I have a T5 grow light. Any advice on this? They seem not all that difficult to grow, just very slow, and I don't mind, it will be winter gardening for me. Or perhaps fall or winter sowing is an option? A few of the onions

Kas - I feel for you. Our kitchen has also been functional since December but the cabinet company (Holiday) keeps screwing up. We have been waiting for 4 cabinet doors/1 drawer front/Sub-Zero refrigerator panels/assorted moulding and some trim for our cooktop hood. They have supplied these things at least 3 times times but it always comes in wrong. Our cabinets are custom stain/matte finish/ distressed/ wormholed. The cabinets have come in either non-matte or non-distressed or non-wormholed or all three. It is amazing to receive the upper half of the Sub-Zero door matte without distressing and the lower half regular finish with distressing. What are they thinking at the factory??? In addition...they send these relatively small cabinet shipments in a huge semi whose driver has called to deliver as late as midnight. Meanwhile, our KD, who is a real peach of a guy, has not received the final 20% payment on our cabinet order. Nor does he even ask for it. He seems totally embarassed by this cabinet company. We have called the company and ranted and called the area rep for Holiday and ranted and of course, called our KD and ranted. Our only progress has been to have the latest (wrong) shipments delivered by courier during daylight hours. Maybe they will get it right some day. Although the cabinets are beautiful....I too question how they stay in business. It is amazing. Best of luck to you.

Avon does not work like this. Please have your friend contact them, and the state Attorney General ASAP. Also here in ND, the media will release warnings regarding scams. Avon will not release names and addresses. I am so glad she did not get caught. Since I do not have a reg. rep. I buy from our local flea market, but even there I am careful, as some of the reps are selling out of date products. Just for a note, a rep buys directly from Avon and can sell the product for any price the want to, unless this policy has changed.

I can totally relate, gwanny! I have been having alot of computer issues lately, too and mine gave up Sunday night. I had to actually go to the bank to pay my bills, it was quite a shock! (LOL - it wasn't that bad but certainly felt weird). Got a temporary new windows and a temporary internet connection set up until we can figure out what the problem is. I, too had ebay stuff ending so was really stressing about that. In the end, all was well, my stuff all sold, bills are paid and I only had to go to the library once... Suzan J

It's called an oxymoron, Raymondo.

I wouldn't consider the phrase "an easy death" to be an oxymoron. It refers to more obvious self-contradictions, such as "jumbo shrimp."

Getting back on topic, Baker Creek usually is one of the faster responders. But, Kristie, 4 days is hardly long enough for the order to get there, let alone for the seed to have been shipped.

I'm referring to newly listed varieties I've not seen before and you both know it and are just trying to make trouble. LOL

Kristie, where you live also dictates how fast seeds get back to you in addition to the exact place you order from.

Where I live the fastest is always Harris and Johnny's and Stokes, all three being here in the East. I always phone in orders and those two have had seeds in my hands in 2 -3 days.

Careful Carolyn, I have a bunch of racing snails that just love trouble! They go out of their way to exercise indulgent parsimmony. I just think of them as pessimistic extroverts.

And Kristie, I've only ever had good experiences ordering from Baker Creek, and I'm many thousands of miles away. They have a nice melon selection, don't you think?

Are you talking about Harris Seeds based in Rochester? I was just wondering if we are talking the same company.

Many of the "locals" here have had some pretty bad service through them at times, and feel it is like playing the lotto or some other chance game when it comes to their seeds. I had not experienced this until last year, but will give them another shot this coming one.
