Can my Victorio/Villaware strainer be saved?

Hello - this if my first posting to GW, but I've read through tons of posts about the Victorio. I've got the Victorio/Villaware model 200, purchased from Lehman's Hardware back in the 90's some time.
I have loved this strainer from the beginning, and never had any trouble with it until this year. It absolutely REFUSES to process black raspberries. They start out okay, but as soon as the auger fills up, it won't turn any further. At first, you can turn it backward to back up the berries, but then it jams that direction too. I *was* able to get it to work this summer (after the raspberries failure) on tomatoes. I even tried using the tomato screen instead of the berry screen to no avail. I've tried adding more juice back to the hopper, but that doesn't help either.
I've tried the berries fresh, frozen/thawed, and frozen/thawed/cooked. No go. I'm so SAD!
Can anybody think of what could be wrong with it?
