Went outside earlier than usual today, and I liked how the colors looked.

Hyperion - I think it's FFO don't remember seeing them before

Gilded by Grace also had a pretty good bloom day

And lastly FFO on one of my favorites - Cosmic Traveler.
It got sick during our drought two years ago.. Only one small fan survived.
It is still one fan but it's a good size fan now.

Beautiful flowers today, and I'm loving the subtle coloration of Moon Over Monterey. I didn't realize it was a polychrome. Gorgeous daylily.

It depends on how you are dividing. Are you dividing them down to 2 fans or 4 fans or what size? I've purchased in the spring which were just bareroot double fans and had them bloom the same year but not to their full potential. I will be dividing some plants this spring and I'm not concerned about how many blooms I get from them this year. I figure it is best to get it done before something else comes up in the fall and I can't get it done again. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Julia

I had the rose crazies before the daylily crazies. So I kept on adding roses for years until I got things the way I wanted them. I was picky about the roses, still am. There were lots of roses that left my garden because they didn't measure up or I didn't like them. Also if they just didn't fit in my garden and wanted to take over, outta here! Stingy bloomers, outta here! And I do spray every two weeks with a systemic fungicide and also use liquid seaweed or fish emulsion fertilizer. I plan on enjoying lots of tomatoes this summer and also to share them with friends and neighbors.

Kay, you know I have really gorgous daylilies but these certainly are not them. This was when I was trying to extend the season by getting early bloom. A total failure as far as I am concerned. As soon as I realized what I would get (small yellow flowers) I decided Iris was the way to go and got into Tall Bearded and Siberian Iris. I figgured the TB would bloom first, then the Sibs, then the roses. But they are all blooming now although the TB did start first. LOUISE CLEMENTS and NEW ORLEANS are both Clements introductions from Heirloom Roses. I have lots of Clements roses and I simply love, love love them. They are just so beautiful. May I suggest if you start a rose garden you group a bunch of roses closer together for maximum impact instead of going for the one rose here and there type of planting. Then you leave space around the entire cluster of roses.

No, the rose is not a climber. It is a shrub rose and was about 6 feet high when I moved it. Its much taller now, at least 7 feet. That one is called CAREFREE DELIGHT and I love it. Had to move it as it really outgrew its old spot. I never thought it would get that big. I put it were I wanted a rose to get big. Now that white one with the little flowers and this pink single are starting to grow together and will look really pretty. The pink just keeps right on blooming once it starts in the spring. The white goes in heavy flushes.

A perfect bloom of Victorian Lace, and a nice clump of Forever Redeemed. Set Free is heavily crimped and broad petaled.

All are very pretty! I like the soothing color of Moon Over Monteray. Set Free is absolutely gorgeous, and I always love Victorian Lace. Your Gilded By Grace looks so perfect. Mine was adversely affected by Old Man Winter, and did not send up any scapes this year. I also lost a couple of fans. I really missed it this season. I'm hoping it will recover and bloom like gangbusters next year. Your Forever Redeemed is really blooming up a storm. That's my favorite of your photos today. Thanks for the show!

I like Moon Over Monterey ....lovely color. I think Cosmic Traveler looks very good......always have liked that pinkish purple color.

wow, a great bunch of beauties, today, I always love VICTORIAN LACE.its just always so pretty, and SHERRY LANE CARR is a beauty. love that color.FOREVER REDEEMED IS a beauty, and so is GILDED BY GRACE.. thanks for the nice show.

Ha I never noticed Moon Over Monteray being a bit of a polychrome. It is shorter than registered (not to mention bc is way lower) but I like that it actually survives and blooms and reblooms here. Though I will have to transplant it yet again because I need a path and because of its height (or lack of it).
Yep Victorian Lace was perfect today. It doesn't have a lot of uglies though, good plant.
Set Free reminded me of a fancier version of Loaves and Fishes. I need to compare flowers close to each other.
Gilded by Grace doesn't open all the way and it's also short, but it's so pretty. At least it has couple scapes this year! Last year after the drought it only had like 3 buds or something :) Sorry yours took a year off, Debra.

Lots of pretty blooms today. That clump of Forever Redeemed is hard to see past, I really like that one. Cosmic Traveler is a favorite of mine too. But I really like Set Free.
