Here are some of mine, mostly oldies but goodies.

Clump of Brown Eyed Girl (an excellent performer, it's been blooming for 4 weeks)

I know I am in a minority here; but I prefer the older, simpler flowers! I love yours.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Most of my plants have been purchased because I saw a beautiful photo of it in this forum and then it became a must have. So I certainly know how you feel, Njmomma. My list of wants used to be as long as yours. Mantis_oh, I think my zone 6 is milder than yours as it is classified as a zone 6b. Some of my Wonder of It All blooms open well and some are stuck and need help opening. I can understand why you like it as it does have a really nice gold edge. Maryl, I love Gentle Shepherd. Eventhough it does not have the "bells and whistles" of the modern daylilies, it certainly has a simple beauty to it. When placed with the darker colors, it really stands out. Debra, I believe it was your photo of Purify my Heart that got me to get this daylily. I can still picture the gorgeous bloom with the blue asters behind it.

Thanks everyone! Nancy, I do have some clumps of veronica in that bed - you can see some in the 'another angle' photo, it's in the middle toward the bottom. I also have veronicastrum, which is the bottom right of that same photo. In addition to those, the coneflowers and the monarda, I have agastache and nepeta (catmint) that are taller accents. The tall nepeta is in both group photos, on the very right, kind of in the middle (Nepeta sibirica 'Souvenir d'AndrÃÂ© Chaudron' , hummingbirds love it) - it's sprawling all over all the daylilies near it, I really need to try to cage it or something next year. Mantis - I have had Crazy Ivan for a few years, in a pot. Late last summer I gave away all but one fan, which I planted in the ground. It's now 2 fans. One scape, not many buds - maybe 8-10. I think it probably would be happier further south, but it's holding it's own. It's on my trade list. Maryl, I'd been wanting Linda Beck for a while, an just got it in late May - 2 fans and it surprisingly put up 2 scapes. I look forward to seeing how it does in future years!

Thanks a lot everyone! Thanks Kay, I like Via too! Mantis, lol that scape is also a good indication of the average bud count in the garden. It has 12 scapes so not too bad for a sourthern plant here. Ha 2 Petits indeed, I just do not remember hybridizers, unless it's Karol Emmerich, so never even noticed :) Yes of this bunch my fave is Via Dolorosa. Chance Encounter seedling is as thick as CE Thanks Lori! Thanks Debra! HOH was very pale when we had that awful heat wave earlier this month, but also had better edge. I have only one cross with it yet, 5-6 sdlgs, and I am Not impressed :s Thanks Kate! Mine is also in the foliage or just above but I am glad it's growing well here! Thanks Signet and Nancy! That's what I meant, because Hyperion is so old and reliable and still in many gardens I feel bad about thinking of tossing it. I keep hearing it is very fragrant but mine is not. Signet lol I do occasionally like odd colors too, I have a seedling I might post that is like brown the best I can describe.

ID request. A mass produced Daylily from the 1980’s and 90’s

I see these orange daylilies around all over the place here in June ( zone 7). In landscaping, in older homes, around subdivision entrances; they are everywhere. The scapes are held well above the foliage and the orange flowers are abundant. I actually like them. After years of wondering I asked about them on this forum and came up with a species name I suspect is what they are: Hemerocallis (latin for daylily) Fulva. Their common name around here doesn't do them justice I don't think. They are called Ditch Lillies. Here's a picture of ones I took that were in a neighbors front yard (among many front yards): Yours appears more red, but that could be the difference in time of day and our heat, which fades many colors later into the day. Nice. I'm aquiring a taste for greens like Easy Ned and the Gadson Greensleeves that have been posted. But where will they go and what will I put with them...lol

I probably prefer the 'oldies' also. Your daylilies are very pretty. Some are new to me (although an oldie) such as Zambesi, and Cranberry Cove would fit right in with my Rhinestone Kid.

well,I am old too,and I like these that you are calling "Oldies" they very pretty.I loved that red one and Brown eyed girl,and Amazing Grace is gorgeous, too.Thank you for sharing them.

Your oldies are great. I probably like Council Fire the best because I always seem to pick the really bright ones.
