That is a perennial blue flax. Supposed to be a heavy reseeder, but hasn't been for me at all. I like the ferny foliage, it kind of meanders through other plants without blocking out sun.

Thanks so much Flowergirl for ID'ing that peony. I had never even bothered to look to see what it is because I know it's old but am glad to know it's name! Thanks LL, my delphinium get little care, only alfalfa tea. To fertilize my garden I feed the worms and they give worm castings in return and they love alfalfa tea. I use the tea at least weekly (well diluted) on most heavy feeders and new plants. I bury my kitchen scraps in the garden since I don't want to attract our resident bear and the worms eat it up. I also make my own compost/mulch altho the dark delphs didn't get any this year.

Thanks Embo, maybe the drain pipe doesn’t help, but these were planted last summer, in a wind-exposed location and last winter was really long and harsh (many days of -40 Celsius). They look better now than they did in Spring. I promised myself it would be the last time I would plant large specimens. If you look closely, you’ll see that my blue spruces have also suffered damage.

Pretty blooms!I have to go out and get at the weeds too. I prefer to call them "groundcover"LOL!

You know, that first little double looks kind of like Roswitha to me....I've just come in from my morning garden walk and Roswitha is blooming. I immediately thought of your photo. :)

I checked my lable on this one, I have it as Siloam Ury Winnifred. NOT! I wonder if it can be the weather though. I purchased it last year from a local grower, it was blooming at the time & I looked it up online. It seemed to be correct then. I actually like the color better this year. Looking at it and everything on Roswitha sounds & looks correct. The picture looks right for Forty Second Street, but according to the site I looked at Forty Second St is over 3", this is a bit smaller. However, it really did look like Ury last year, so I think this is probably correct... Sure doesn't look the same though. The grower sold me a small clump, & it almost died out in the heat last year. I wonder if there was a root of another daylily & Ury died out?

I really like that pink spider. Is that the name of it? I have a couple of spiders (Cleopatra and Yabba Dabba Doo) and I really love them. Your pink one is irresistable to me. Does it have a proper name? I would love to add it to my garden!

Thanks everyone, I hope I can work out the name of the daylily. I will try to talk to guy I bought it from.
lisaday, I bought that one as Pink Spider & for years I just thought it had no name because all I found in searches was Pink Super Spider. Then I found Tinkers & they list Pink Spider as a 1971 daylily. Surprising to me that it isn't available much. It doesnt' rebloom, but blooms nicely for quite a long time. It finished blooming last week. I've had it about 4 years & it just gets better every year. Like you, I love spiders, just had Lady Neva bloom this week for the first time, I really like that one. I have a few spiders, they really make a show.
