Full StoryOkay, so every year I see seeds offered of balsa wood (Ochroma Pyramidale). I'd love to have something that grows 6 to 10 feet a year, with stronger wood and roots than a ficus tree. I know they don't last -- I don't NEED it to live for years and years! -- I just want it for the quick shade and the gorgeous effect.
Am I going to be the pioneer in this, or has anyone else in South Florida grown balsa wood before? I'd love to know about your experience, if you have.
Thanks in advance!
