Lovely, lovely, lovely. You are quite fortunate to live next door to your mom and both of you share the joy of gardening, especially daylilies.

I love the way you have shown the bigger picture with the clump shots and whats growing around them. This is my favorite way to see daylilies. Both gardens are so very beautiful I wish I could stroll with you all.

I really enjoyed the clump shots! My favorite blooms are Barbarian Princess and Prickled Petals.

Gorgeous garden shots Julie. It must be wonderful to live next door to your Mom and share the delights of gardening. My Mom used to love to come to my home and walk through my gardens with me. I miss those days.:)

Enjoy it. My mother was a plant lover, and we always enjoyed sharing our plants with each other. I love everything to do with gardening and this has been a difficult year because of having knee surgery which has limited me to very little actual gardening.

DH has "stepped up[ to the plate" and watered my plants and fertilized them too. I would have lost everything without his work.

Just continue to enjoy your mom, and I wish you many, many years to share your beautiful gardens.

I am glad that you are lucky enough to have a DH that is willing to step up and take care of the things that you love when you can't...

Mine has had to do similar this year... we lost our other garden partner ( my father ) unexpectedly two months ago.

Up to that point, DH had never really taken an interest in my gardens. Now he is walking with us and trying to learn some things about the hobby that takes up so much of my time because he knows how important it is to me.

I don't think that I will ever again take for granted how wonderful it is to have someone that you love to share your garden with.

I hope your knee heals completely and lets you "get back on your feet" soon. In the meantime, it gives you a lot of time to plan what you will do next year when you are able!

Lovely clumps. How lucky to have your mom so close!

My mom always gardened although she would not necessarily have planted the same things I plant. But I am sure that is why I grew up and just started gardening myself. It just seemed like the thing to do.
Both you gardens look well tended and well loved. Post some more pictures when you get a chance.

Both your gardens are looking lovely and well tended. Enjoy having your mother share you passion. I don't have anyone to share mines with my OH thinks i am stark raving bonkers.

It seems like quite a few of us learned at least an initial love of the garden from one of our parents. Both of mine have always had a love for nature and gardens, and have instilled that same love in me and in my brother. I wanted to share a couple more pics, as well as a quote that my sister-in-law found on a stepping stone for me last christmas... It has a very prominent place at my front door......

And I couldn't help but throw this one in there... you can't really see the DL's.. they are oranges in the front of the bed, with asiatic lilies and roses behind, but it shows off the beautiful backdrop nature has provided me on that side of my yard!

Julie, first of all, I love that quote...may see if I can find it for my Mom's memorial garden.
Secondly....that is the most stunning photo of the garden with the snow covered mountain behind it. I'd seriously think of enlarging that one to have framed. It's glorious.

Lovely gardens, wonderful view, awesome blooms. My Mom is next door to me but is crippled and unable to garden anymore. I learned from her and now do the gardening. I bring her a daylily everyday and she is amazed at the new hybrids and various wonderful colors on flowers these days. I hope to have many more to share with her next season.

Jan, Thanks for the compliment on my mountain photo. She is not the most cooperative when it comes to having her picture taken... but when you manage to get a good one, it is a stunner. I have been here ten years and I never get tired of looking at her!

Sharon, It is so nice that you are kind enough to make sure that your mother can still share your flowers, even if she can't tour them with you. My grandmother is close to us too, and that's who I hear the most amazement about the colors of the flowers these days. She says that they make the flowers of her childhood seem very plain.

Jean, thanks for the compliments. The mountain is Mt. Rainier in Washington state. We are in the foothils, about 40 miles outside the state park. It is a truely beautiful place to call home.
