Once again you have a yellow that "grabbed" me in Terry Lynninger. I might need that one. I don't have a lot of yellow, but I really like that one.

I liked todays picture of TERRY LYNNINGER but the plant itself has been a very poor doer for me. Its on the shovel prune list also.

Rita - Please shovel TERRY LYNNINGER my way, if you decide to give it up. The Carpenters perform very well here.

Fancy Face and Off Beat are my favorites on this post. I'm sorry Lee Pickles isn't doing well for you. It's one of my favorites. Little Light of Mine is similar and apparently is a much better performer for you.

Such beautiful stuff! I am disappointed to hear that TERRY LYNNINGER isn't a better performer for you as it really grabbed my eye! I love your pic of OFF BEAT and am very excited to see what it does here. It has a scape, but is a ways from blooming, so will have to wait a bit to see. I also really liked PEARLFISHER PINK and FANCY FACE, and the row of TICK TACK TOE is stunning!

Your lillies are also just wonderful. You have to be thrilled with the results of all your hard work!

Just wow!! I just got Terry Lynninger, cause I love it. It has one scape, planted it this spring. Love, love, Off Beat and Classic Edge has been on my list for awhile. Loaves and Fishes is a beauty. Your combo pics are stunning, what a nice pic with Fancy Face. You do such a great job, almost worth going to New York to just go down your street.!!!!Forget all the other "tourist stuff" I'm thinking you put Central Park to shame.

I am one that pays attention to branching and budcounts which is why I like more northern intros so much. But Tic Tac Toe is sure the exception. Its a Maryotts intro which means its a warm weather intro. Winter doesn't bother it abit. Last year my best scape of it had 5 way branching, this year its loaded with scapes of 5 way branching. Last year best budcount was 32-35 can't remember which exactly. I am sure I will do at least as good this year. I absolutely love this daylily.

Debra- I have afew daylilies on the shovelprune watch. Either I will move it upstairs into that new garden I made by laying down newspaper, or I will move it out of the garden permantly. Still watching performance. Will keep you in mind if I decide its going to leave.

The thing is I am running out of room. In the case of LEE PICKLE, MINSTRALS FIRE and WISEST OF WIZARDS they are all three extremely similiar with WISEST OF WIZARDS doing exceptionally well and the other two showing me nothing. I don't need to keep the poorer look alikes. And the poor doers like TERRY LYNNINGER are the first things looked at when one needs room.

I wish I could say I did the combo of the speckled lilies and FANCY FACE on purpose. But I actually ordered a lily called Tinos which has a similiar color tone but those little speckled ones are what bloomed. Obviously mislabled. I don't really mind as the combo works as well as the intended combo would have worked. Now, If those speckled guys were pink or rose colored, I would not be pleased. But I have no idea what the liitle speckled guys are. I will ask around on a Lily Forum I like, someone there probably knows what they are.

I have always had roses and lily combos, this is the first year I have been adding lilies to my daylily beds as most of those daylilies were only put in this year so I planned to start adding the lilies this year.

Off Beat, Antique Rose & Terry Lynniger yell out at me! Why don't you try your 'moving magic' on TL to see if that helps? Too bad, because it is a knock out dl!

I moved it once already to its now spot now. Actually doing much worse in the new spot. I will probably move it again after bloom, nothing to be lost by trying.

The really strange thing to me is that a daylily will totally not do well while others around it are doing great. Usually if I move them, that fixes things up but not this time.

Last August and this spring both I moved a bunch of daylilies that had not been blooming and most are doing exceptionally well in the new spots.

I checked on Terry Lyninger dl and the pictures I'm seeing on the sales sites don't compare to yours. The eye on yours has a brushed effect and the sales photos don't. Some of the sales photos also look yellow with the eye being red.

If I was just browsing their sites for daylilies this is one that would not catch my eye. I would not buy it. But, because of your photo I will probably purchase it.

If those sites could use your photo I'm sure they would sell a lot more of Terry Lyninger. LOL

The markings are deffinately maroon, not red. I don't really remember the brushed effect last year but its deffinately there this year. It's quite an usual daylily, doesn't look like everything else. The flowers are not large but very striking.

Makes small fans and didn't incease over last winter for me. Got thru the winter well though this year while it struggled alot to get going last year.

'Antique Rose,' 'Off Beat' and 'Pearlfisher Pink' are really lovely - time to keep a list on the computer of things I like, lol. I'll be planting asiatic and oriental lilies this fall; they look great in clumps among the daylilies.

WOW!! RITA, That TERRY LYNNINGER is a beauty there.Mine did not look that great, but,its first year so I think it will improve.My problem was it didn't get scapes up out of the foliage and didn't open up good.I did have one bloom at the end looked pretty good..Hate it that LEE PICKLES is not doing good for you.Its really pretty, too.No,I don't have it,but think its very pretty. I love that SELLSTATION PLUM CRAZY. Thats a nice dark one, and that Planter box out front is soo pretty the way you have it planted.just gorgeous, and just love the row of TICK TACK TOE.Just gorgeous,and the LILY Row is beautiful as well.You certainly know how to plant them to make things pop.Bet every one that passes by your place has to go really slow so they can look at your place and the beauty you have created there.Wish I could drive by it too,and see in person.You have worked hard and it really shows.

I had to go and follow that link for Orange Electric. I've been avoiding the Van Bourgondien website and ignoring all their emails all spring and your link took me right to them.

I didn't do bad though I got a 50% off promotion and held myself to Orange Electric, Oriental Bon Bini and Iris Secret Service. My husband said I was done buying daylilies this year. He didn't say anything about other Lilys or irises. LOL

Andrea- I am laughing. That will teach your husband to be more careful in how he words things.

I bought and planted Bon Bini this spring too but it hasn't bloomed yet.

Jean- I have a tendency to gripe and made a big deal out of it if some poor daylily doesn't do well. But since I must have at least 400 by now and most of them are wonderful, I figgure I shouldn't complain so much LOL.

Rita, Terry Lininger looks fantastic. How disappointing to hear that it's not a doer 'cause I really wanted it. How does Fancy Face do? Love the look of that one too. You really have some nice daylilies. That row of Tic Tac Toe looks great.

Fancy Face does really well. Nice grower and not at all fussy. I bought mine at Marietta Gardens in 2007.

Remember, just because TL does not do that well for me, doesn't mean that it wouldn't be different in another garden.

I am really picky about certain things. If a daylily struggles to get going in the spring, I don't like that even though it grows out of it. Didn't increasse, another strike but now its summer and its growing well. The size of the fans being small bother me and I should replant all my small fanned ones together. In places were I do have small fanned ones together, I don't notice so much that the fans are small.

I see more moving around of daylilies in my future.

I have Orange Electric in a raised bed, in three different places. I didn't like it the first couple of years, but the nice thing about Asiatic Lilies is that they increase so rapidly (at least in my neck of the woods, they do,) so now they put on an "electric personality" show...awesome!

I really like Rose Fiesta and Antique Rose. Pearlfisher Pink and Westbourne Strawberry Icing aren't bad, either.
