I am posting pictures taken on Wednesday and today in this thread today.

First some from Wednesday-

WILLOW DEAN SMITH had the most beautiful poly. I just couldn't miss it!

AARON BROWN FFO one of the Don Herr intros I bought last year. Didn't bloom last year do I am happy to see it blooming now.

BE FRUITFULL and MULTIPLY from Karol.

INDY HEARTSTOPPER FFO. This was a bonus plant from Blueridge this spring.

SCREAMING QUEEN from Paul Owen

PROOF POSITIVE from Charmaine Rich. It had a FFO already days ago but it was not so nice yet. This flower was really perfect.

SAMUEL BELL

Then these are from today--

WONDER OF IT ALL open and perfect for a big change!

WINNING NOTE

DAVID ARTHUR a bonus plant I received this spring and planted in an out of the way spot. The darn thing is so gorgeous I will have to move it to a much more prime spot.

SOUL ON FIRE from Karol.

BASS GIBSON FFO. I bought and planted this last fall.

BETTY FORD looked fabulous today.

EXTRAVAGANT a 2008 intro of Maryotts

HI HO SILVER started blooming here. This is a strange daylily, very unsual. At first last year I was not sure that I liked it but it grows on you. The flowers get better looking after afew of them get to open.

MOONLIT MASQUERADE. Finially. I think it had about one scape with two buds last year. Much better this year.

MOONLIT ENCORE FFO. No, I did not get it mixed up with MOONLIT MASQUERADE. They are planted really far apart in different garden beds. Sure do look alike though.

MYSTICAL RAINBOW

HELLO HEARTSTRINGS FFO. This was the bonus from the Paul Owen seedlings sale and a 2009 Owen intro. I think it is just stunning.

The color and substance on Willow Dean Smith is SO beautiful. Love it! I enjoyed your picture of Winning Note too. Mine bloomed for the first time today and I am glad to see your clump shot. Mine suffered some crown damage this spring and had to start with smaller scapes. Hope it eventually looks like yours. Thanks for showing us your beauties.

As usual, you have some real grabbers1 I love David Arthur, Winning Note, and Hello Heartstrings. That bonus, Indy Heartstopper is gorgeous...probably my pick. Betty Fors is always lovely.
I had the same feeling about Hi-Ho silver. It stank at first, and was lovely after the first few blooms. I decided it was a keeper.

As always, you make me drool on my keyboard.

Rita - Yay for you on the rebloom scapes! I just got back home after 7 days with my mom in the hospital, and with temps in the mid-90s here and no watering, several of my rebloom scapes are dead and brown. I do have a few that are still looking OK. Ricter should start reblooming tomorrow! I'm liking all of your Phil Korth Daylilies, and what a nice bloom on Rosy Rhino! It took three years for my RR to look like that, so you're ahead of the game. I think In Style and Cherrystone are very pretty, too! Debra

I had to go look up Penny Pinsley. It's a little one! I am becoming very enamored of the littles. Your pictures make it very appealing. I'm trying to remember what tour I was on when I saw Lavender Cream Cascades in several gardens. Probably Houston, given it's a Carpenter. Anyway, I remember thinking then how much I had liked it...and had forgotten until your pictures! Haha. Rambunctious Rosie is my kind of gal...big and tall! Kentucky Lucky looks very proud today. I feel your heat...I think Sunday we will get back down to the 80s...sigh. Try to stay cool.

Glad you all seem to like the butterfly pictures. Taking them did drive me a little crazy since the butterfly kept moving every time I had it in focus and then I'd have to find it again. Fortunately it seemed to really like this plant so I got lots of chances. Kay, Nancy, and Casey-- Blessing is one that I really like. You may have noticed that I'm a nut about performance and this one has been blooming since July 8. Nancy, I love that Miner's Findings is very late. I don't like that it often doesn't open all the way. Avedon, nat, and lisa--I've been quite happy with the seedling. It bloomed far longer than either parent.

Looks like Ornate Ruffles is the favorite today and yes, njmomma it is a good performer. Bud count was down a little this year, but still in the upper teens. It has been in the 20s. Painting the Roses Red is one of those flowers that really frustrates me. It can look gorgeous and it has a good bud count and has been blooming since July 10, but most of the blooms are splotchy. Celeste, Cold Hearted is a Margo Reed intro. I just got it last year and I'm really loving it. It's registered as 5". I think it's bigger, but not a really large flower. Lots of extra special daylilies.
Bass Gibson is way up, up in the wish list. What an awesome edge. Just super gorgeous!
But everything is also so special. Willow Dean Smith, David Arthur and Hello Heartstrings are just so good looking. I also love Extravagant and the wide edge.

So many beauties Rita...can't pick just one favorite. Your Hello Heartstrings is gorgeous..mine is putting up a rebloom scape...goody more pretty blooms to come.

What a lot of great ones today! I'm glad to see WONDER OF IT ALL is beautiful and behaving today. I got that one from Maryott too, but mine doesn't have any scapes. BASS GIBSON had an impressive ffo. I know the teeth will become more pronounced on subsequent blooms. The clump shots of CELEBRATION OF ANGELS and GILLIAN are scrumptious! And, I'm so glad to hear MOONLIT MASQUERADE is doing better for you this year. Thanks for sharing your photos!

Absolutely gorgeous, Rita! I always like "visiting" your garden. 'David Arthur' is beautiful, and I've wanted 'Aaron Brown' for a couple years now. Nice, nice, nice.

AARON BROWN has been on my wish list for a while -- nice to see a pic in a real garden.

WILLOW DEAN SMITH just leap-frogged over a bunch of others on my wish list. Gorgeous daylily.

Aaron Brown is my fave of the bunch, but you really have some lovely clumps going. HI HO SILVER really is a different one, but very pretty - I just love it here. For me the scapes are tall, well branched and well budded.

That is an incredible group of blooms! They are all gorgeous, and there is no way I can widdle my favorites down to even two or three. The ones that I found most stunning were INDY HEARTSTOPPER, PROOF POSITIVE, WINNING NOTE (I got it last fall and can't wait to see it bloom after your pics!)BASS GIBSON, EXTRAVAGANT, and HELLO HEARTSTRINGS (Another I am anxious to see bloom for me.

I also love the depth of color in your CELEBRATION OF ANGELS. Mine doesn't look quite as velvety, although it is a bloom machine and I love it.

Can't wait to see what the weekend brings you!

Such nice pictures and they are all so pretty. I have taken a liking to Extravagant and Gillian and I love the white edge on Indy Heartstopper. You have such a wonderful variety of daylilies.

Hi Rita in New York! Your pictures are truly beautiful and I wanted to add all of them to my want list. At the top of my list I have added Moonlit Masquerade, Gillian, Betty Ford, David Arthur and Celebration of Angels.

I hope this Rita's plants will look as beautiful as Rita's on Long Island!

Hello, and welcome to the daylily form. I clicked on your member page because I was curious to see were you live but it doesn't say. It did say that your birthday is March 15th which I just couldn't get over because mine is March 15th also!!!

Beautifull....
Don't give up on Moonlit Masquerade...mine was slow(two years) to really develope, but now..... it was almost my very first to bloom, and it is still blooming 2 months later!!!!!!!

Hi Rita in NY,

What a coincidence! I thought it was a coincidence that we both love Daylilies and are named Rita. But 2 Rita's, born on March 15, and love Daylilies is a triple coincidence!

I live in Florida. Are you on Long Island, NY? Your blooms are magnificent. I hope you post more pictures!
