Pennisetum does not come up - yet, when I type "Setaceum" that comes up... So here's my question:

I bought small containers of grasses for a dollar each - They were making space and getting rid of some plants...

The label says "Perennial" Fountain Grass "Pennisetum Setaceum"...

When I went to pay, the owner said it was an annual grass - yet the labels all said "Perennial"... He is not much of a gardener - probably didn't read the label... so here's my question.

Should I space the three grasses a good bit from each other in case they are perennials? ARE they perennial? Also, I was thinking of placing them in an area that only starts get our hot NC sun from about 1:30 on - Could that be enough to get some good growth and plumes in the Fall?

Thanks for your patience - The only grasses I've grown are Miscanthus and Blue Fescues.. this one is new to me
