Good Golly.miss Molly!!! its hot out!!! any one remember that song that use to be on radio and tv, years ago.???heres a few photo's today.

ok, I stop here till another day.only got one more bud to open on China bride.am hoping for some rebloom on it. so far,haven't see many rebloom scapes.very unusual.I usually got ebloom scapes making up every where by now.Got 2 so far on Beautiful Edging.

China Bride usually does well for you. Without a doubt, this is a flawed year for many climates. Your pics of Kansas Kitten and Emperor's Dragon caught my eye too. I see your hose is out too.

A visitor to my garden stopped in her tracks when she saw FoJ. "What's that?", she asked. "Fourth of July", was my reply. From the expression on her face I could tell that the name meant nothing to her. "It's a rose bush" I explained. She was dumbfounded, "That's a rose bush? I thought it was a peony." I got a similar response last year when someone asked about Betty Boop. Let's face it. Non-rosarians have no idea about the many forms & faces (& names) of roses.

Rita, Jean and Celeste - I'm unable to tolerate bright sun very well in recent years. I think it has to do with the allergy medicine I take. Anyway by 9-9:30 the sunlight becomes way too intense for me. So I really need to get out as early as possible to photograph, water, and do any garden chores that need doing. It takes me about 2.5 hours to water what I can reach with the hose. Two gardens are too far from the hose and very parched right now. North Wind Dancer is in one of those, and it only has five buds per scape and extremely small blooms this time. Maryl - Glad the city has fixed the water pump. Plants in pots really need watering every day in hot weather. One of the reasons I got Skullduggery was because I liked the name so much. Of course, I liked the way it looked too. Nat - When daylilies go summer dormant, they completely disappear. They lose all their leaves just like in winter. When a good rain comes, they'll leaf back out again. The first time this happened, several years ago, I thought they had died. The Turn of the Century hibiscus is a hardy one that usually has blooms as big as dinner plates. With so little rain this year, the blooms are only 5-6 inches in diameter. Royal Jester just started blooming yesterday. I'll probably be posting photos of it later this week. @ David That juanngoiana is truly lovely. I'm not sure I even know how to say the name once, though... So, those soligamiana flowers, they are a kind of strawberry orange color? What would you compare it to? The skin of a peach? You might as well try for another IML 0022. It's a nice pottsii to grow since the leaves are smallish and pretty. @ Mike That's a beautiful set of photos. I especially like the erythrina one. Just gorgeous against the dark background. The meliflua buds, on the other hand, are very gorgeous, but with that lighting they look like some kind of alien pods that are going to burst open and drop squiggly fast-moving blood-drinking predators. Of course, you're used to that, since you grow orchids, which are geniuses at looking like beautiful nightmares.

Your picture of Flamenco Twirl snagged me. I had to look it up. The pictures on ATP don't look anything like this lemon colored bagel. More pink, more ruffles. It's alright, but I really like your photograph one better. China Bride is always pretty and I also like that W. Fireplace. Nice ones.......And yes it's hot. We hat a heat index yesterday over 100 here. Humid but no rain yesterday. If we have to suffer from the humidity we at least ought to get the rain........Maryl

You still have a lot blooming! I think Flamenco Twirl is my favorite variety today.

Thank you all for looking and the very nice comments about them.FLAMINGO TWIRL is a perfectly round bloom each and every time it blooms, too.I love it.
MANTIS; I don't think I have ever gotten a bloom of CHINA BRIDE that had a flaw in it, its always a perfect bloom, even the first blooms of the season.I really love that one.
MaryL;Did you try looking up Flamengo twirl on tinkers data base? to see what color it is there? I haven't looked it up, but,I might just to see if it matches mine.
Kay,I really like W, Fireplace, too, more then the FLICKERING FIREPLACE. the names are very close. I like them both, but the plain fireplace I like better.

I like those two red ones, really hot. Kansas kitten is a fine flower, although a bit dark on dark for my garden. but still lovely. thanks for the pics. :)
