Here are the rest of the pictures taken today. I think its a much better batch than the ones that were all FFO in the other post as you know that FFO don't always look good.

Its really exciting to go out in the garden each morning. I hardly know were to look first. The vibrant color and bloom in the daylily beds is wonderful to see :-))

SUMMER GIFT has been improving as more flowers open. I know I said the first few flowers this year were bad, and they were, but it seems to be straightening out.

NORMANS FOLLY. I love bi-tones so am very pleased with this Dale Thomas 2009 intro.

Wonderful! I'll take one of each, please. I have a couple that rebloom each day, but nothing like the show you are enjoying right now. Thanks for letting me enjoy it with you.

waitingforspring - I think you are right that my NOID is Fairy Tale Pink. Wow! And I've had this 2 years and I ordered FTP last year and it will bloom for me this year so I can compare them to each other. I can't believe I ordered something I already have.

Julie, Val, Chris & Natanya The morning I took the SC Royal Ransom clump photo was a big surprise as I counted 15 blooms, on 3 mini clumps of 7, 6, and 5 fans. I guess I will start planning on grouping same cultivars together, as the effect could be somewhat striking. Julie, I really love the color and the ruffling of Hurricane Swirls, too. It is rich and deep. Not sure if the shade is affecting its growth, I might have to move it to a sunnier morning area. I think it is a very nice, vigorous plant. Debra and Kathy, Piping Rock was picture perfect starting from its ffo. It was sheer elegance, standing high on its scape, whereas, Violet Becomes You, which many prefer, took more than 5 blooms here in the yard to lose it blotchiness. VBY is also stunning and hopefully, will not require that many tries to be good next season. Both PR and VBY are beautiful keepers. Jean, I do love them purples and violets, except they change a bit in the afternoon during bright and hot sunny days. Might be best to start placing them in morning sun and afternoon shade areas. The little yellow one is also gorgeous. I am loving it as it has that saturated lemon yellow, with a hint of green, and wonderful ruffling. Rita, And you snap off the pods as soon as you see them? :) I am probably getting over eager with pollen dabbing. My brain goes like "this flower cross with this other one might look good", many times more than reasonable. And it will probably take them seeds at least two years before bloom time. Hopefully, it will be a learning experience, too, especially if I am able to duplicate the cross of a cultivar that I like, and see if something similar or very different will result, and get some understanding why such things happen. But I will prefer nice blooming seedlings still :) Bj

You just cannot do the comparison because we do NOT have those kind of Sans over here. What you can find are the basic sans trifasciata. Even in independent nurseries. They have the same kind of sans that big box stores carry but with a higher price.:( and when you see and buy all the 'silver blue'. Remember, one need to be send cross the country to here:)

Yes,she is, isn't she? I had to take a picture because todays flowers on her were so much better than the FFO I had the other day.

Rita, I love them all but Belle Of Ashwood and Intelligent Design grabbed my votes in this bunch. All very lovely and I know what you mean about not knowing where to look first. I am still doing that daily even though mine are on the wane.. Good photography too!!! Ellie

That is an awesome clump shot of Tic Tac Toe!! Your favorites are my favorites of the pictures that you sent today, but they are all so gorgeous! My blooms are about finished, but there are a few rebloom scapes coming. They seem to be ahead of last year, as I remember telling Rheann after I got home from her wedding last year that there were more daylilies still blooming than I thought there would be, and that was about the 8th or 9th of July. I think I only had 18 flowers total today to enjoy, but it was a glorious bloom season when they were in full swing this year. I will never, ever doubt the power of liquid organic balanced fertilizer and straight nitrogen sprayed on them once a week when scapes start to form. Tommy Maddox, from the Robin, told me to try that this year; I did, and did it ever make a tremendous difference in ALL my perennials, but especially noticeable on my daylilies!!! Jan G.

Great clump shot of Tic Tac Toe!
Intelligent Design is one I'd like to have in my garden some day. Love the wine coloring.
Element of Surprise has such a pretty yellow throat.
Love the gold edging on Belle of Ashwood.

You certainly have some beauties in this bunch.My favorite one is that gorgeous BETTY FORD.Its breathtaking. I also like BELLE OF ASHWOOD.,,THESE EYES and PRETTY GAUDY really stand out, too.Gorgeous blooms,and that clump of TIC TAC TOE ia soo pretty.It seems to be another one that screams out LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME.

Oh, Rita. They are all lovely> I especially love the heavy substance and saturation on Betty Ford..It is so intense. I especially like Bell of Ashwood....a very classy lady....a beautiful bunch. indeed...I enjoying all these posts..cheers, lloyd
