I receieved Siloam Baby Talk in a trade this year so it's not blooming this year but I've heard great things about it.

I got SBT last year and it did pretty good for it's debut in my garden.

I think the colors would look nice in front of the rest of your flower bed. You are so lucky that your DH is going along with this. It is so much fun to plan and plant in a new area.

LITTLE WART is a great preformer here and blooms for several months,non stop.A real nice Lavender bloom.

If you like to mix in summer phlox among your daylilies like I do, there's a great dwarf (20") white summer phlox (very mildew resistant) called "Danielle" that looks like a tiny "David". Also a lilac-blue one that's similar called "Miss Jessica" that I love that looks like a "Franz Schubert".

I have Siloam Baby Talk and it is so pretty. Another favorite is Siloam Show Girl, very rich velvety red. And I love Pardon Me...just keeps blooming!

An old one I've had is Little Audrey, early & blooms for a long time. I got Little Show Stopper last year that seemed to do quite well. Some others I like are Two To Tango, Siloam Ury Winniford, Siloam Bo Peep. Tigerling is short, maybe has a larger flower than a mini but is very cute.

I think Pardon Me would be too tall as a front border plant. I just saw some today that were quite tall.
I would check out the shorter Siloams and browse some daylily websites that sort by size. I can't think of the one I found but I know some do this.

Grace Stamile's minis are usually short (I think there are some exceptions) as she intends them for front of the border plants.

I just got Siloam Doodlebug and its an adorable pale lemon with a purple eye, very cute. Also have little wart it's been blooming since early June and just finishing up now.

It is new to me, but Alpine Mist has been flowering since the first of July, and has had a flower almost every day since then, and still has a couple more to go. The scapes measure about 18" and the flower tops at about 3", and it's so pretty. Can't vouch for increase yet, as said, it is new (last year in September, anyway). I just love it.

Yay for you! Great birthday gift. But now you've made me totally jealous.

I've watched the last of my possible spaces shrink over the last few years and I'm seriously eyeing my neighbors spare lot, but husband keeps saying 'don't even think it.

I've got ten daylily clumps just home from the daylily farm along with 8 pots of already purchased to fit in my remaining spaces. I'll have to be narrowing a couple paths.

On the front of the border plants, NJmomma, I think it depends on what one has already in sections. Pardon me is 18 inches and looks great in front if the second in taller. There is but a couple inches difference between height in Pardon Me and Siloam Baby Talk. Also depends on if one does a 'traditional' type border or gardens to a different tune as in cottage-style.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I forgot to mention that I will be mixing the daylilies with other plants. I have many "collections" and will be adding more hostas, ornamental grasses, huecheras, heathers and heaths too.

Red and orange won't work in the existing color schemes.

I don't mind some variation in height or tall scapes sticking up for some variation.
