Suggestions for Bright Pink/Fuscia Daylily Please

I have spent some time researching but wonder if anyone can suggest bright pink or cherry pink daylily. I do realize this colour tends to be muddy but perhaps you have a favourite?

I am in Ontario so should be cold hardy.

I placed an order last fall and two of my supposedly bright pink have bloomed and they were labelled wrong - one is very deep burgundy and the other is red with a black eye. I am disappointed to say the least. From pictures I have seen I thought 'Cherry Cheeks' would be a good choice - that is the one that is deep burgundy.

I am not looking for pale/pastel pink; they are beautiful for certain but I am finding hot pink/fuscia difficult to place and that is the colour I am needing in my collection.

I would absolutely love and appreciate if you have pictures - the more pictures the better so if you have some show-offs, post away.

Actually the Hornbaker idea might be a worthwhile day trip for you. It's a great place to visit and I get clumps there all the time, but I go over, have never mail ordered from them. If not this season yet, next season as their early, Early-mid ect are blooming. As you enter you pass the iris beds (you might like that next season as you can go out and pick out what one likes and then have it shipped or come back and pick up) and then the daylily beds. If you follow the road up you come to the shrub and perennial potted section. One could even bring a potted blooming perennial down to the daylily beds and walk around and see how things look together. They are great people, great products and I was just there a week ago for some late bloomer. Did not go up and see what was up in the perennial section this trip though as it was daylilies I was after. You can view their daylilies online and also they have their perennial list available to view online also. Are you might enjoy an outing sometime over by Rockford to Robert Ellison's place, he has some nice ML and L bloomers ( some of his are at Hornbakers too)

Here are some of my brightest eye-catchers: BRIGHT SUNSET (Tet, dormant, 36" tall, 6" blooms, Early-Mid season for me - strong, tall orange) HEART OF JADE,(Dip, Dormant, 22", 4-5", Early - it blooms larger for me than its listing on Tinker's, which is 3 1/2") FROZEN JADE (Tet, dormant, 25", 5 1/2", midseason; this color CUTS through the garden, it's really strong) BREAKAWAY (Tet, dormant, listed as 30", but it's taller for me, closer to 36", with 6" strong orange-peach blooms, midseason; it has scapes like tree trunks, and it multiplies well) SPELLBINDER (Tet, Dormant, 34", 6-6 1/2", mid-late, darn near NEON in person, this picture doesn't do it justice) I'm in the upper end of zone 5; I get a zone 4 winter every couple years if you go by low temps. Greenwood in Somis carries daylilies that perform well in Southern California heat. I have had success with both evergreen and dormant daylilies. Be aware that in our climate, the pinks have a tendency to turn peachy and the lavendars usually turn mauve. I have also had to move all of my daylilies into light shade. The leaves burned in the sun here. They do very well in light shade, though. If I were to try another yellow, I might go for Hyperion. The Stella daylilies are not generally good performers in Southern California. I just got Joan Senior at Home Depot, and it's blooming its head off. It's a very pale yellow. Thanks for your advice, Funnelweb. I went out to the Melville Rose Nursery in Carmel today and bought a row of standard Seductions. I'm going to plant John Clare between them. I also got some climbing roses - I'm going to have 3 arches, so I bought 2 each of Lamarque, Zephirine Drouhin and Kathleen Harrop. I bought some Angel Face roses - just love the bloom and the fragrance. I'm going to have a mixed cottagey bed as well, so chose Windermere, Molineux, Abraham Darby, My Hero and one other (forgotten its name). I also chose lots of other plants, including lavender, African box, agapanthus. I'm going to get nemesia, salvia, and penstemons as well. It's going to look great, once I get through all the planting! Thanks again for your help.

Two of my favorite pinks are PINK ALOHA which I don't have a picture of and the other is PINK LEMONADE PARTY. I also have a couple seedlings from PLP that I really love. Linda

Big Sur was absolutely stunning in my garden this year. The color is very magnetic and immediately draws one's attention. It seems to glow.

Check out CHANCE ENCOUNTER. It's a bright fuchsia pink that should do well in your area.

I've been after this daylily now for a few years since it has become more affordable. It is supposidly a true deep pink (not mauve)and should be winter hardy even though it's a southern raised daylily. At least that's what this northern daylily nursery (zone 4) guarantees. The name of the daylily is Shores of Time by Stamile.
