You've done it again, Rita. Absolutely fabulous pictures. Just when I think I am ready to list favorites, the next one comes into view. I do like all your "hot" colored ones, and the others are great, too. At least I can get my "daylily fix" since ours are pretty much gone. Now I'm off to view your next post, and see what's going on there, like it's not going to be wonderful!!!! Avedon

Avedon, I was thinking of you when I took the picture of SUGAR PLUM JAM. I was glad that it had a flower left so that I could get a picture. JULIET is new for me this year, never grew them before. I can't believe how productive they are, fruit, fruit and more fruit everywhere. What I really, really like about them is that Juliet has a very large fruit for a grape type. These will definately be back next year. Nope, never heard of Cherub tomatoes. Kay, I don't can and really have no incentive to learn at this stage of my life. I do want to make refridgerator pickles when the Asian Cucumbers start to produce. Sometimes I cook the tomatoes down and freeze the sauce. I have VIVIA ITALIAS planted this year, a Roma paste type so we will see how well I do once they get ripe. So far they are all still green.

Some more of those Reckamp Klehms should open soon. I got a batch of them afew years ago from Annette Rice on the Lily Auction when I was looking to expand on my late bloomers. When I first saw the picture of SAM ABEL at Richard Norrris website I was bowled over. I just couldn't believe the stunning dramatic looks of this flower. I deffinately looks like it was hybridized in Florida but no way. Love these northern hybridized intros :-)

'Last Man Standing' really has that 'Wow' affect. I love how bright it is. That is most definitely my favorite of these. And your NOID is very bright and cheery too. But like you, I would welcome any daylily that can bloom after all the others are done. They wouldn't have to be fancy, just keep me happy with blooms. I am enjoying seeing your lates. I just planted out my second Maryott order and now I have to focus on getting my hands on some LATES. I have room still in my new bed so lates are on my must-have list. Celeste

Kay, sometimes it is necessary to remove trees for everyones safety so I am sure you are doing the right thing. I am watching all the updates on the news but there is nothing we can do that it decided to come our way. I will be moving patio and porch furniture inside and into the garage tomorrow and saturday so that it doesn't blow away. Thanks, Nancy. I am happy to still have daylily blooms as this season has been going on for a longgggg time :-) My first daily daylily picture post was June 15 and I have been posting pictures every day since then. And I even posted blooms before June 15th but they were hit or miss and here and there since I did have some of those extra earlies. My zinnias always seem to just keep blooming without my needing to do anything. I did cut some back on the zinnias in the terraces here by my kitchen door because I don't want them flopped over the daylilies. But those zinnias in the picture are in the backyard in the terrace above the daylily plateau in the back. I don't do anything to do them. They are the STATE FAIR so they are big flowers and tall. Look great back there. Maybe it is because the Goldfinches love the zinnias here and I think they eat the seeds off the dead flowers.

I really love that eye and edge color on Off Beat. Your Always Applique seems to have the applique pattern regularly. I'm going to call mine Rarely Applique. LOL Malaysian Marketplace is always a joy to see, and I pick it as my favorite of these. The zinnias look fabulous. I bought some zinnia and cosmos seeds last week, but it may be too hot here for them to germinate. Your gardens always inspire me.

Avedon- Thanks. I do have daylilies in all colors and patterns but do so love those hot colored ones.

nat- Thanks. Maylasian Marketplace just keeps on blooming in that wonderful clump right here next to my patio so I can't miss seeing it.

Kay- Some of these daylilies like Malaysian Marketplace just show off so much that I just have to keep on taking pictures. And I do always notice the hot colored ones whenever I walk around the garden.

Debra- I am glad if I can give anyone ideas about their gardens by just looking at mine. You probably know I just love zinnias. Those backyard ones are doing great since I put them in as plants early and they didn't have the problems the front ones did with the daffodil folliage. But my seeded ones in the front are coming up like crazy and I hope they catch up soon.

Have you deadheaded your zinnias? Because mine look just horrible. We've had so little rain I broke down and gave everyone a little spritz today.

You know I love Barney, and I love the photo of Malaysian Marketplace -- can't wait for mine to become a clump. I just added Aaron Brown this year and won't see any blooms, but your photo makes me glad I made the addition.

No, I haven't done anything to the zinnias. I haven't even watered those up there except for the first few days I planted them. I do ocassionly water the zinnias out in front. And now I have to water them as the little seedlings are coming up.

I like Always Applique, but suspect it is not all that vigorous coming from the south. What are your observations?

Always Applique is one of the ones I got from Maryotts when I ordered in 2007. Anything that did poorly is long gone by now. It does just fine here, no problems at all.

Off beat, Aaron Brown, & Malaysian Marketplace are my picks, but I'm not going to scroll back because I'll find more. Well, Always Applique maybe should be added. And Star of the North is so dramatic. Yes, I did say I wouldn't scroll again, but I just couldn't help myself.

I really really like Star of the North and I must be doing something wrong with Malaysian Marketplace because I have it and it's lovely, but in 3 years it has not increased much at all. I might move it to more sun. :)

I do have a favorite in this group and its Malaysian Marketplace. Something about it just draws your eye to it.
