Starting with this group shot of an area of the mid back yard were three Emmerich intros really dominate.

Spirit Of Truth

Rich In Mercy

Fountain OF Life. This was spectacular last year but the clump has even more bloom this year.

Spectacular! So Fountain of Life is the best grower? Spirit of Truth certainly has a striking edge.

Fountain Of Life had the most bloom in my garden last year and then it immediatly went into instant rebloom. Made for a very long bloom window.

I didn't even get her catalog yet! This order is a really big deal to me as I never ordered things listed as single fans before as I am always concerned about them growing well. But the reports from others buying this way were very positive that they all increased well. Plus I e-mailed Karol herself and asked about the single fans and am very satisfied with what she told me about flowering and growing. Maybe its the single fans imported from the deep south that might struggle in the north. At any rate, if one wants to go for the newer intros it seems to be the only way. Can't exactly double the order as it would double the money spent! Not something I could do as I have other hybridizers to buy from still for spring.

Nat, I went out and measured Filled To Overflowing and the scapes are about 30-36" tall here - much taller than the 24" I see it's registered at! Chris, I really can't comment on increase and bud count, as I don't pay much attention to those things. Plus most of mine were in pots for a while. Here's a brief summary on the ones I have pictured: Filled To Overflowing - have had for 5 years, it's been in the ground for 3 years I think. Lots of fans now. Last year it was one of 2 or 3 daylilies I had that had rebloom. Mount Ararat - just got last May, was in a pot until last fall. 4 fans, each fan has a scape, but 3 of the fans have another shorter scape coming up (instant rebloom) Soul On Fire, Flight Into Egypt, Fear Not (also Light of the World, Overflowing Heart, Seventy TImes Seven and Open Door) - have had for 2-4 years, were in pots until last fall. I don't think any of these rebloom. Kingdom Without End - got last July, planted in a pot, then planted in the ground in the fall. 3 fans, 2 fans have scapes (1 fan has 2 scapes). I have some others too. Almost all of them have been great performers for me. The ones I like the best are the ones that are the colors I like best - purples and reds - Filled to Overflowing, Mount Ararat, Fear Not and Kingdom Without End. And I love the ones that are EMOs, since I am always up early in the morning. I think the best EMO and CMO (even on a 50 degree morning) of the ones I have is Kingdom Without End.

LOL kay, I am sure Karol would not mind if you added to your spring oder :-)) Julia- Its not soil, at least not in my garden but both lighting when different pictures were taken and I guess differences in temps because there was some viariation in color. I look at both of these daylilies and have never seen any shades of purple, only tomato red and sometimes abit lighter tomato red. I am not sure which one I like better, probably FEAR NOT.

Awesome, Rita! Love the reds and the purples are all gorgeous, and so many blooms. And they all clear saturated colors, just great.

Wonderful daylily shots, Rita. I love purple and red together, and these just look amazing. Rich in Mercy and Fountain of Life are the standouts for me.

What a beautiful day for your pictures today. I love Emmerich anyway, but there you go showing me some more that I need. Beautiful, beautiful, indeed! How can you even go inside at all with your yard so very gorgeous, Rita?

The majority rules--no way to pick a clear favorite here because they are all outstanding. If I had your yard, I doubt I would ever be in the house--LOL. Your flowers definitely make my day. The good news from here is that we are getting a little rain, so maybe the DLs might put up some rebloom scapes. Avedon

Thank you all and I do spend a lot of time opuside as I like to visit with my garden as much as possible.

Nat, Those three up there, FOUNTAIN OF LIFE, RICH IN MERCY and SPIRIT OF TRUTH are all 2009 intros and I got them in spring 2009.

Kay, I am out of room so I can't even get any new intros Karol comes out with.

Ha! You will find room if she comes out with something you need. I was out of room, but I am moving out some and splitting some up, so I will have lots of room this fall

Ohhh my goodness those are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!! I LOVE them all. If you ever need to split them up let me know, oh, shoot, I guess New York is a little far for this North Carolina gal to come help you. hahaha oh well wishful thinking!!! :0)

Kay, I have no energy left to divide clumps and it wouldn't give me more room for new ones anyway. I guess if it comes to that I could move out something but I can't think of what. It is nice that you have room again. I know you will not be able to resist the Lily Auction.

Renee, it is all daylilies with none of the companion planting that you do so well in your garden. Four rows of daylilies in that little section and I have three sections like that up in back. Tall Bearded Iris garden bed in back of the daylilies.
