NO ID FFO. This is one of the daylilies in the complete row that I moved forward very early this spring. The tag with it is wrong so I messed up this tag with the move. Now I have to search the entire row to figgure it out. Whatever it is, I love it!

GOODBYE COLUMBUS. This is either the second or third flower open. I got this one from Tranquil Lakes Nursey that has lots of oldies. It is tall and extra late and in spite of the fact that it is a simple flower I just love it.

I like Newberry Festival the best, something about the color and the shape that appeals to me. It is super-hot here too, Rita and I've fallen behind on my posting photos here since all day yesterday I lugged the hose around to water all my gardens. It's on horribly hot days with no rain that I wonder what the heck is wrong with me that I keep adding more gardens to water!!! I would die if we didn't have AC. I have it blasting and it's cool inside but Mom (being 88) keeps complaining that she's freezing...LOL. BTW, hubby and I did end up going to Olallie's on Tuesday. We were going to wait until late August like you suggested to see the lates but when I checked their website, their hours are reduced to just Thurs. - Sunday then and DH has his own business and can only take Tuesdays off. Plus I had already arranged for and paid for daycare for my Mom so we decided, what the heck...might as well take a trip. I took pictures of the Olallie lilies in bloom so I'll be doing a post soon. So many great blooms, I don't know if I can narrow down to a couple of favorites or not. Final Destination looks great, wonderful color on Westbourne A Fox In Every Henhouse, I love the form & shading on Paranormal Experience, & Wall of Fire is stunning. You know, I thought I was getting over the contrasting ruffle stage, but Fountain Of Life is beautiful! Ok, 5 isn't too bad. Might could pick more, but my cat is "assisting" me type this out. He needs to start his own thread, he prefers the oranges, they look more like him :)

Thank you Alex, for looking in on my pix! Your encouragement is greatly appreciated!..as are your wonderful garden pix..all of them! As for the plumeria pudica, I'm not sure, but is that one that does not drop its leaves in winter? I notice in your picture, it looks quite different, the leaves look darker and "bolder"! You are right about wanting more!.. My other adoptee is a one-branched creature with larger leaves on the top. As I've asked in another post, I was hoping, perhaps next spring, to cut the branch into a cutting and start a new one (the propagation bug bites too); or else maybe I should give it another year to show that it too can blossom (It has never). Thanks again. Does anyone who might have seen my pix submitted on July 12 to the gallery, have an idea of which "named" variety it might look like. I realize it doesn't prove it is; but curious! Great, FFOs at the end of July! So many flowers I like today. Love that first one, Cat Scratch, Music of the Night, Joy To The World. I also like the names of some lates :)

nat, And remember my bloom season starts much earlier than yours as I am in a much warmer zone than you in my 6/7 compaired to your zone 4. So end of July is pretty good for first flowers open. It used to be even later but this year all the blooms started about a week and a half earlier. Plus just to throw more into the mix, I still have daylilies that have not yet opened that first flower this year. So more to come. Late bloomers are great and extra late bloomers are better yet.

So it is July 28th, and you have more first-time bloomers with more to come in the future--is that great, or what? As usual, I love all of them, but I give a nod to Last Man Standing, Kendora Wildfire, and Goodbye Columbus, which may not have a lot of fancy frills, but I like simple ones, too, and this has such a bright, pretty color. Kendora Wildfire is so gorgeous! I love your NOID, and Last Man Standing and Dancing With Sandra, and Joy to the World. What can I say,Rita? I absolutely adore your taste in daylilies.

Avedon, It is such a joy to have areas of the garden that are late bloomers going strong, full of bloom. So I have lots to look at even though other daylily beds are pretty much finished. Then even so I walk by things that are scaped up and not yet ready to bloom. It's both wonderful and unusual as most people don't have this many late bloomers. Actually I don't even know exactly how many I have.

Cat Scratch really looks a lot like a Shooter late I grow, Witch's Stick. I wonder if WS is a parent of Cat Scratch, or if they have the same parents. My favorites are Last Man Standing and Joy to the World.

Quite a few among these I'd like to have -- Last Man Standing, Kendora Wildfire (wow) and Joy to the World. Are these listed as late or very late?

That is a great batch of lates just starting. I really like Music of the Night, Cat Scratch and Last Man Standing. The lates are super nice, and you have a nice variety.

Debra, I never pay attention to parentage. Just buy what I want. So I have no idea.

Chris, Joy to the World is one of those late blooming Klehms. Last Man Standing a nice true extra late blooming Benz intro. Kendora Wildfire has been blooming now for weeks so that one is not late.

Nancy, Thanks. The first two you mentioned are late bloomers so that always is a big plus.

WOW!! Some more really pretty ones.CAT SCRATCH is really pretty,and the END OF STORY is very nice.LOve the bi tones.MUSIC OF THE NIGHT is a very pretty one, too, but,my favorite one is KENDORA WILDFIRE. Now thats a beauty.

I love Cat Scratch and even better being a late bloomer. If only they bloomed alllll summer. ahhhhh...... Music of the Night and Last Man Standing are really pretty too! I've been toooo lazy to post any this summer but may do it this winter when I have some time. Thanks for sharing, Judy

Linda- I really appreciate CAT SCATCH because it starts blooming so late. It is supposed to get a really high bud count acording to the Shooters but that hasn't happened on mine. KENDORA WILDFIRE is just my kind of daylily with those hot colors.
