Why not plant Oregano in my Tomato Garden?

Is the question I asked about a year ago.

Planting Basil with tomatoes is supposed to make both taste better, so why not plant my oregano there? I had two plants in 5" clay pots that I was watering every day... why not let the mister system look after them?

It took over! This is one of the two plants. It was firmly rooted over at least 3 square feet of garden. It has now been re-designated as (edible) ground cover to stabilize the soil (OK, sand) in an in-ground area leaving my yummy triple-mix soil for the enjoyment of tomato and pepper plants. Even if only 1/10th of it survives, I have more oregano than I'll use in a lifetime, especially considering that I bought a Sam's Club sized package of dried oregano.
