Here's some new shots of daylilies blooming to keep us going. These were all actually taken yesterday but I figgured I would post them this morning as there is not much here still. I hope we get all our old posts back.

Westbourne Wildfires is such an unusual blend of colors!! It is by far my favorites of these today. Malaysian Marketplace is a very close second. I was a little surprised when I got on here today. I tried last night and it was so slow I gave up; now I guess I know why! Finally had some peace and quiet to be able to come on today and get caught up, and everything was wiped out. Hope it comes back, as I sure have missed a lot lately! They are listing their home for sale, so have been packing up everything not necessary to make it have a "showing presentation". Jan G.

mmmmm, I love redbuds. We grow cercis siliaquestrum (Judas Tree) in the UK and infrequently, the odd cercis canadensis such as Forest Pansy (or a more recent one, Lavender Twist. These trees have not really entered the UK small tree lexicon unlike amelanchiers, robinias and the many sorbus, malus, prunus, witch hazels and wintersweet. We more often see katsuras with the same lovely autumn colour and rounded leaves, and most rarely of all, the gorgeous disanthus. My little Forest Pansy was joyful until succumbing to verticillium wilt - along with cotinus, cercis is a tad susceptible to this. A whole vista had been planned around the cercis, a huge R.moyesii (for the heps) and perovskia, all approaching a decent maturity - still gnashing my teeth.

CELESTE: Thank you for looking and commenting. NO, the 75 degrees didnt feel chilly, but sure did feel better then the 100 plus we been getting alot of. MARYL; thank you for looking and commenting. I do hope you get some reain, too and cooler weather.I am afraid we have another month of this heat,and the sprinkles today will seem hotter later when the baking sun comes back out. yES Wonder of it All just keeps going and going. I counted up the blooms so far its had this season, includint the one today, so far makes 141 blooms and its still blooming.I am hoping it puts out another rebloom scape, but, maybe it needs a rest period. Mantis: The person I received it from, sings its praises. He is in MD and Zone 7. I have seen it in his yard and once in my yard. I loved it at both sites. The problem with it here is that I had it in a bad location with little sun. My neighbors trimmed their row of evergreen bushes and now there is more sun. In the mean time I relocated it and I hope to see it bloom this year. From memory, it is rather tall and the pink/red eye is outstanding and will grab your attention. It is one that I am looking forward to this year. David

You have some real beauties there. I love so many of these. No way to choose, but: The Westbourne Wildfires takes the cake. I love it, as it has that beautiful eye, and the glowing color.

Malaysian Marketplace. That is one I bought after you posted it, and I still love it. It is one of my favorite day lilies.

Welcoming Committee. a Typical understated beautiful Emmerich.

And yet every one of them is beautiful!

Oh My,That first one WILDFIRES is gorgeous.Love that bright Red.I like WILD CHERRY ROUNDUP, too, Like that little narrow edge on it.WATERMELLON LUMINOSITY is another gorgeous Red or purple.I don't know what color it is really, but I love it. MALAYSIAN MARKETPLACE is really a beauty, too..You certainly have some beauties blooming now.

MALAYSIAN MARKETPLACE is doing really well for you. Would appreciate if you have the chance to post what the scape,branching and bud count ends up being at the end of the season.

MALAYSIAN MARKETPLACE has been in the same spot since I planted it, must be in 2007. Started with 2 fans and now there are nine nice sized fans. It has a budcount around 12. Not remarkable but the flower is so pretty I would not consider not keeping it. It has never rebloomed here, not sure if its a rebloomer down south or not.
