Beginner starting raised beds - help please?

Hi everyone! I'm a novice gardener with a teensy bit of experience growing herbs in pots around my house. Now I've gotten bit by the bug :) and went out and purchased three small wading pools to make raised beds out of. I have areas with both full sun and dappled shade in a southern exposure yard.

I need to know what kind of soil to put in them, and after reading a lot of your previous posts am thinking of planting some snap peas, cucumbers, spinach or bok choy, lima beans and sweet potatos/new potatos. I also have some large black plastic pots and want to get a cherry tomato plant.

I have recently gotten a Meyer lemon tree and a Nagami Kumquat tree - both are doing well and have babies on them.

So, armed with a box of Miracle Grow and my wading pools, I eagerly away your advice! Thanks!!!
