Is your email working from gardenweb?

I am not receiving most emails from gardenweb (90% missing). I'm trying to figure out if this is gardenweb, or hotmail causing this problem.

Example - if I do a post and check box to have copies sent to me, they do not come. A couple of people have said they sent me emails via the gw mail feature, but they don't even show up in junk email.

If this is just me, I'll take it up with hotmail, otherwise I'll start after gw.

No, it didn't work, I didn't get it.

My question is, Does it work for YOU? Trying to determine if the problem is "just me" or Gardenweb.

Today there is a new member posting on the seed X (new to me name) and no state. I posted my 'canned' message which is in a post I have saved to my favorites. If anyone at any time wants to, they can copy and paste it in for instructions for a newbie who is not set up to be able to use the boards. Seeders, I too would be interested in the specifics (step by simple step). Kiln, I think I may have been a Nancy Drew type person in a previous life...lol Melba, It has been my understanding (from the discussions I have read) that it is not any particular email addy that is rejected, but rather it is just that 'part' of the messages are going through 'part' of the time...I might be mistaken though...it has been known to happen.

I have no idea where emails to 'gardenweb_user@gardenweb.com' go, but when you get an email like that from someone, it is because they have chosen a particular setting in their profile that prevents their address from being visible. Any email sent from GW, from that member, will have that 'cannot reply' bit. Even emails that are a result of ticking the 'click here if you would like copies' box will be 'cannot reply' kind of messsages. You can't do anything about that. You have to ask them to send an email from their mail program (not from GW) to be able to reply to them. You can still sort of email them back though - you just have to go about it the long way. The GW name of the person that sent it should still be visable before the gardenweb_user bit. You can either find a GW post by them and click on their "my page" link and send them an email from there, or you can do a search for the GW member on the 'Member search' page (click on 'Member Pages' in the 'community' section at the very bottom of the main GW page). Excite does some strange things sometimes. I have you in my address book so it should go thru. I will check with them and see if there is something else I need to do. In the meantime I will send you an e-mail from work, but I can only check it when I am there. beverly

No panic! Your installer just needs to know which kind of tool to use to cut the things. Depending on how difficult that is, s/he will want to calculate a bit extra for errors. The Costco site says they are backed with ceramic, meshed and have a peel-away rubber backing. I imagine you/your installer can get lots more information by contacting Korel directly, link below. I have read many posts from readers saying that GW email does not work and that people have complained numerous times. Apparently GW doesn't care. It is just best to open your email address to GW members and have them email you directly.

It used to work but not in a long, long time. It was nice to get notices of msgs. and to be able to send emails. Now that is lost. It was a nice perk. Maybe they will fix it one of these days.

OK, so I don't think it's just me anymore.

Sarah, I sent you an email as well, just for a test. Aftermidnight yours was sent yesterday.

Let's all file a complaint with gardenweb!

This only takes one minute:
Go to forums homepage.
Scroll all the way to the bottom.
In the bottom right hand corner in green is a "contact us" button.
Clicking it gives you an online form.
On the form there is a "type of message" - select "technical issue with your site"
Tell them "mail doesn't work."

Perhaps if enough people start complaining they might fix it.

Gottagarden, I received an e-mail from someone through the the garden web on or around October 9 or 10 and sent an e-mail back to her without any problem. Once last year I sent an e-mail to someone else through the garden web and that person nerver answered me back Regina

The email function at GW hasn't worked right since iVillage took over a couple years ago from what I understand. Some people receive emails with no problem, but for others they get lost in cyberspace.

GGG, your email finally got here, I kept checking through all my emails and yours suddenly appeared, there was one other through GW that also appeared today dated yesterday, strange, oh well, things seem to be working now.

When I posted this email, I checked the box so that emails would be sent to my address. If you notice, when you send a reply, it says, "A copy of your follow-up will automatically be emailed to the original poster." Guess what? I have not received any of these emails!

So it's still not working for me, it seems to be very random. But I'm annoyed. Someone posted that they thought I was ignoring their request for seeds, when I simply never got it!

My GW email no longer works and has not worked for quite some time. I'm sure there are people 'mad' at me for 'not responding' to their emails that I never got.
