Maggie thanks for shareing the good news! I remember when the misses was expecting our first and we were thinking of names as when dad was alive he simply said do not name him after him as he never liked his name Ignazio as its custom for us to name after grandparent, well isaid to my dear wife how about Luigi if its a boy, i still remember the look she gave me, so we named after my uncle Vincenzo, but Vinny was not the first one, our daughter was and we named Anna Marie. Anyways when she came home 1 day with this small dog that i have shown on fig forum as she used to voulenteer as a dog shelter i asked what this we have 1 already she said that they do this to get the pups some interaction, long story short we named him Luigi!!!

I know the feelings. last year my wife found she was pregnant in the peak of fig season. I told her it was the figs that did it.
A month later, she found there were twin. In the begining of spring, the same week I plant tomatos, she gave birth to a boy and a girl...

Ciao everyone, thanks so much for all the good wishes, I am very tired now, It was a very exciting and emotional day for all of us being so happy. My husband took the rest of the day off when I called his mobile and told him the news, My mother went crazy and so did my mother in law. I think I may have lost some hearing with all the yelling and happiness. Martin and Sue, the naming thing has already come into play, mamma is already reminding me of our Italian tradition of naming after the Grandparents. I told her I would consider it,, She already said that if its a boy it has to be named after my husbands father and if its a girl it will be named after her. Sue, the Ficus and Carica thing I thought was so very cleaver, what a wonderful mind you have to have thought of that, It is quite an Idea. Carica would be a beautiful name for a girl. Giuseppe, I am so glad your cuttings are doing well, the ones you sent me are doing Wonderful as well, they all took off and are quite full of leaves now. Yes Gorgi, thanks for your good words as well, The college thing will be up to the kid, I will of course put money aside for when he/she leaves, but they have to decide what they want to do in life. If college is for them, I support, if not, I support, I just hope they don't leave the house till they are married!!! Jose, yes, the priest was called within an hour of the news, by of course who else, my mother!!! I called to tell Father Campitelli the good news, he said my mother already called. Short story about craving Maggie as you pregnancy brings bag some fond memories, my wife 1 day when pregnant wanted some Mcdonalds fry's her first ever craving experience, so i said no problem ill be right back, well i bought her one of the meals with the fires , drink and burger. Mind you we had a good snow but thats ok, i came home and she said where's my fries? So i went back told them politely that my pregnant wife did not get her fries and i had to come back and she is not too happy so they gave me 2 nice size fries.
I went there a lot it seemed at that time.

Carica then all Serbs all over the world are going to love her soooooo much because Carica in Serbia has a very special meaning. In Serbian Carica means Princess (like the head of the country) :)

Interesting Radovan, believe me, a princess she would be, I worry about her having my husband for a father, she will have so much trouble talking to boys around him, he is very protective of me, I can imagine him having a daughter, my father was like that with me. I am the only girl, my father worshipped me, I was the light in his eye, my nonna used to say, my father simply loved me, especially since I could do alot of what the boys could do, I held my own and he loved I was feisty like him. My father always said people have to own what they do in life and to whom they do it to. I miss him, but I have alot of spoiled brothers and uncles and cousins who are just like him. When my kids were teething, I gave them dried figs to chew on. The hard type that is tied in a circle on a string. It was pretty messy, but they loved them (and kids are messy anyway - so what's a little more, LOL).
Hope you have a comfortable wait until the time you meet your sweet little baby.

Dio vi benedica!...I hope I spelled that right. My wife and I became grand parents for the FIRST time this year. What a joy a baby is and I wish nothing but the best for you, your husband and of course your baby.
