So many good suggestions still coming in--appreciate that. I won't be ordering until after Thanksgiving (or maybe after Xmas), so I'm open to any more beautiful ideas. I'm looking them all up. Some I kinda know. But I don't know much of anything about Mrs. Dudley Cross, cherrykist. Is it hardy in Zone 6? HMF say Zone 7--but I know it is sometimes rather conservative on hardiness. And I'm not sure about its height since HMF says 3-5 ft (or something like that). What is your experience--does it stay around 3 ft? It is a lovely rose, but not a type I have ever seen, so I'm not sure what to think about it. It's really cool looking at all the gorgeous pics--thanks everyone. Kate

On my larger trees I circle the tree trunk with the drip line and put 2 or 3 , two gallon per hour emitters on them. I then let it run in the summer for 3-4 hours at a time. So I think it is getting water well beyond the 12" line. I also then water by an area sprinkler in between those deep waterings for another 1-2 hours at a time to get the overall bed soaked as well to support the other shrubs and flowers. So I'm putting down fairly serious water in the summer to keep things going. Mark

Well, I was doing bud counts, and the plants kept putting up instant rebloom scapes and doing that bud building thing that I just decided to count scapes instead. I have been blessed with such heavy bloom and for so long a time this year. 14 scapes - Intelligent Life ...it wouldn't surprise me too much if it decided to send up a scape again. 12 scapes - Citrix, Filled to Overflowing, Count it All Joy, Heaven's Edge,Remembering Elizabeth and North Wind Dancer 10 scapes - South Seas, Cinco de Mayo, All American Windmill and Palace Garden Beauty. Citrix started with a pitiful bloom the 2nd of June. Every other bloom on it had been perfect. Today, it squeezed out one last bloom that was not perfect, but it had bloomed for so long, and almost always multiple blooms! Filled to Overflowing started blooming the 4th of June. It still has quite a few blooms to open. I had never had a day lily bloom for such a long period of time before. Three weeks was outstanding. Next year will have to be a let down since this has been such a remarkable year for bloom, instant rebloom, and regular rebloom. kay

I'm.in desperate need for help for my anthurium!! I got mine a few months ago. It was doing pretty well, my pride and joy. I have kept it in fairly medium indirect light-receiving place. I keep moving it around a few times a week based on the weather. I water it until it trickles out through the drain hole only when I find the top one inch of oil dry. I see very very few leaf growth. Hardly 2-3 in the past few months. It had two blooms when bought, nothing after that. I snip older, dry leaves to save nutrition for the new growth. As far as I can see, it's in a mix of peat and garden soil. It's been fertized twice till date, once just a few days ago. I mist it few times a week. But I can see dry barky stem and new leaves are drying out before they bloom. I don't understand how to make it feel better. Can anyone help me please! It was pretty expensive, I feel scared to even repot it! It's not rootbound yet.
