some smaller siloam daylilies with great eyes

there was a post on "blue" eyes earlier. depend on what you consider blue of course. I wanted to post a pics of Siloam Fine Art

and Siloam David Kirschoff

they have a bit of the "blue" look in the eye, but I have to say much better form, you'll see no gaps between petals. Mrs. Henry would never keep the ones with narrow petals and such gaps. the ruffled petals also very nice.

I also have always loved when Siloam Jim Cooper has a lot of bloom on it, such a nice deep red dark eye showy petals of course... anyone still growing the smaller siloam daylilies? I love these.

Oh yes, some of us are growing them and I'm doing a lot of crossing with them. I don't have any blooms yet this year, but these are from last year:

I was thinking the same thing myself...the Siloams should have their own post! I know I have a lot of them, which were all acquired last year. I kind of went on a Siloam 'kick' last summer...haha. Some haven't bloomed yet, but these are the ones which did. I love these cute little bloomers...they are so hardy here! Here's a pic of a Grace Stamile mini that was blooming for me this morning - Broadway nights I think Grace and Liz could battle over who's gona get the first true blue on their mini's! They both have come pretty darn close. One that I just adore from Liz is Merry Moppet, it is so adorable with its bright colors and tiny ruffled edge. I have to get that one! I got some siloams this year, but haven't seen any bloom yet, but I can't wait. Your pics are beautiful. -Jessica

Hi, Thanks Berrytea4me. I think my door prize is Ury Winniford. The eye on yours looks the same as mine. The bloom is just not as opened up. buyorsell888 I have been to that website. I really like it and it is an excellent idea but I find some of their photos aren't that representative of the actual cultivar. I am sure it will improve as time goes on. It is an excellent reference for Siloam daylilies and I hope they find photos of the ones they are missing. Marric - I have been to that website before too. Unfortunately it has only a handfull of Pauline Henry's daylilies on it. The photos are very good though. I am not sure of Wendy Glawson or Porcelain doll. Keep sending in suggestions.

I had more of these than I thought. I think Debra's photos of Willow Dean Smith first encouraged me to add some of these. I won't post repeats as photos of mine are not nearly as impressive as those above. My Willow Dean is not as dark edged as Debra's. I also grow Swedish Girl, Julianna Lynn and Forsyth Flaming Snow but their performance was somewhat subpar this year. I like Wild One and am always tempted to get that one-it is always impressive. And Sherry's Happy Apache is always striking. Lady Liz has such a soft color. So pretty! Here are the two I selected. Snow Prince was new this year. It multiplied well and blooms were pretty although scarce. I will be interested to see if the bud count increases next year. I was pleased with it as a first year plant. Mountain Orchid was also new. I really liked the blooms and coloration on this one. Again, these were probably not the "best" blooming ones in this category but they were new and they bloomed well this first year and I like them! Mine all seem to be this pink/lavender edge. I think I may need different colors in this category! Kate

One of my favorite daylilies is Siloam Double Classic...but it isn't a small bloom and it doesn't have an eye. I also grow Siloam Plum Tree, Siloam David Kirchoff, and this one -

Beautiful photos - I really like Siloams too. I have Siloam David Kirchhoff, Siloam Tiny Tim, Siloam Leo Sharp, Siloam Little Sister (new this year) and Siloam Rose Dawn (no eye). I like Tiny Tim and Leo Sharp the best so far.

Siloam Leo Sharp has unusual coloring - I hope to get a better photo of it this year. Also, even though it's a light colored flower, it has very dark buds.

Oh, I just love this. The pics are great guys! I got siloam Ury Winniford, and siloam merl Kent this year. Glad I did from seeing your pics. My UW has a few tiny scapes, but my MK is a bit newer and hasen't put any scapes up yet, but it is growing well. I got Dragon dreams, which to me kinda looks like S. David Kirchhoff, but it reblooms. Ive got lots of scapes on that one! I really like siloam fine art and Tiny tim. Another mini that I really want, (isn't siloam though) is George jets on. I have high hopes for the ones I have, and would love if they turn out as nice as your pics! -Jessica

I don't think any of them tend to rebloom, so that's why
I'm crossing them with reblooming daylilies.
