Where Can I get Blueberries?

At homedepot they are selling blueberries but it does not say what kind. Im thinking spartan blueberries would be a good choice right? Which would you get? I want to order them online but I dont like using a credit card on the internet. Does anyone know a safe and quality websight to buy plants and seeds from?

What city do you live in? I know of a few good places in the Tampa Bay area that sells blueberry bushes.

I live in hialeah. But I dont know any other places over here that sells blueberries. Does this place in tampa bay have a websight?

Thank you very much for your input. I will look forward to trying Liberty berries next year. Do you know if there's anything organic I can use to fertilize the blueberries? I have tried googling and reading, but I keep reading about putting on an acid loving fertilizer. I am not sure what that is though. I have some bonemeal- is that good?

Try Jasmin Nursery on Henri Bourassa in St Laurent. Last summer I picked up Red Lake currents, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries - they have lots of different varieties of each. Lowes sells blueberries that have names. It's kind of pushing the zone to grow them in S. Florida because they require chill hours. They also have specific soil needs.
If you feel like a drive to Homestead,you can try Pine Island
Nursery.

I got mine in lowes last year together with muscadine grapes. They are thornless blackberries and are extremely easy to grow and propagate. I keep cutting them down and every long cutting I cut into bunch of small cuttings and stick in to the ground, water every day for few days so roots form... and wholaaaa I got over 2O now. last week they flowered for the first time (as well as my muscadine grapes!). Let me figure out how to attach some pictures.

On the second picture you can see the baby cutting that flowered. cute :)))))

Not sure where you're located, but you should be able to find some good 1s @ the GreenThumb Festival coming up @ the end of April in St. Pete....

Newby at gardening in Florida. I bought all my Blueberries at various Lowes stores and I have them in earthboxes and grow boxes, I had 6 till i went to visit one of my boys in Chesapeake, Va and found 2 good looking potted plants at a lowes up there so I brought them home, they barely had leaves and in 2 weeks in Fl they sprouted and started to bloom, 1 is an O'Neil and the other a Misty, I also have 2 sunshine Blues 2 Emeralds and 2 Jewels. I planted the 1st 6 in growboxes last fall and they are doing just fine so far. the last 2 I bought in Va. will be planted shortly in an earth box when the eggplants give up the ghost. I also have a yellow tomato plant that I planted the 1st week of October, waiting for them to ripen. For you folks who have offered info on growing blueberries i thank you, I have mine at this point growing in Lamberts peat moss and coffee grounds with sulfer Acidifier and Azalier fertilizer. Thanks again for the info.

FWIW, lavosjer's info & pix are either blackberries or raspberries, not blueberries.
