What little gem of knowledge have you learned here this year?

Cosmos! Never grew them ... didn't have a clue. Over & over I saw photos or heard about what a wonderful, foolproof flower they were. So, in July after I pulled my tomato plants I sowed some Bright Lights cosmos (Cosmos sulphureus) in one of the beds. They started blooming this past week. I love seeing those bright orange flowers from my kitchen windows. I sowed some of the white/pink/rose mix (Cosmos bipinnatus), but it was almost 6 weeks later and they're just now putting on some growth. And I have plenty of seeds to toss out next spring & summer.

Thanks to all of you for sharing!!!
