Undivided Heart X Unknown seedling Pic

I haven't been on in a long while. Flower beds, hybridizing, work, and grandbabies have been keeping me busy... oh and the flash flood that wiped out my yard this spring. I lost a lot of plants but the dayliles stood right back up a couple day later.

But when I had this seedling opened today I had to hop on here and thank Rita for the seeds she sent me 2 years ago.

As most of you know Rita doesn't hybridize and tries to remove all the dead blooms... I sure am glad she missed this one. lol

This baby has 4 way branching and is loaded with buds. 5" bloom EMO 22" high. Fingers crossed for rebloom. Undivided Heart X Unknown

Thank you Rita for sending me seeds a couple years ago. Any time you miss a bud and a pod develops I will more than happily grow them ;)

Andrea- I saw your username were you had posted on another thread and was just thinking that I hadn't seen you here in a very long while. I hope you can make time to stick around now that bloom season is here for you.

Wow, I am a grandma to a seedling daylily LOL! Geez, hybriding must be really easy, just let those Bumblebees take care of everything LOL! Honestly, it would be nice to think I was so smart but of course it is some long forgotten hardworking bumblebee that hybridized that flower. Bee did a great job and you sure did all the work growing them.

To remind people here, UNDIVIDED HEART is a 2009 Emmerich intro and I have it planted in a daylily bed that has other Emmerich intros very near and around it. But there are some Culver intros there as well as others too so no one will ever know who the other parent is. However, as I look at the very lovely seedling I see the picked up ruffeling along the egdes and the coloring and I think a strong possible is WOMAN AT THE WELL a very ruffled Emmerich that grows very near Undidived Heart, only one row over.

I am so glad you got a lovely seedling to show for yourself and I do think it is a stunner. Do post more pictures of the next flowers when they open, please.

tabarhodes, They don't flower in the first year unless you have them in a greenhouse. It takes two years for my to bloom and ther have been some that took 3. It depends on where you live, I suppose.. Very nice Jan, it must be a thrill to watch them bloom. If it doesn't rain, I won't have to many this year. I have quite a few scapes right now but the will just dry up without moisture. Is it time for the Cherokee, Choctaw rain dance??...Ellie

Thanks all for the compliments. The Undivided Heart Seedlings are amazing. I still have 3 more from this cross that haven't even sent up a scape. Not sure if they are going to be lates or if I will just have to wait another year. Rita - It is good to be back. I so missed everyone and seeing their daylilies and garden shots. Mantis - the Golden Throne seedling is a first year 3-way branching with 9 buds. The first bloom got caught up with that edge but each one since then has greeted me wide open every morning by 7 am. (and it held up thru the 5 min down pours we have been having.) Vickie - Usually a white piece of paper (even if I have to have it in the shot) gets me the correct color. But, not that seedling. I sure wish I could capture the color it is amazing.

Rita I hope to be on here more than I have been. I so enjoy seeing everyone's flowers and garden pics. I don't have time to comment on all of them but I do love seeing them.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the seedling it was a nice surprise yesterday. Had another one bloom today of Undivided Heart X Unk but the $200 camera just isn't picking up the correct color of it, so I'm hoping for a better day to grab a pic of it. It is a very nice one also.

Oh the Gaskins sure are pretty... no luck setting any pods or using the pollen. If I can't get them to take this year they will be gone. A non hybridizer will be very happy lol.

I'm taking a close look this year at all my daylilies. Going to be moving a lot to sales beds and probably do an open garden next year to get rid of them. With the registered cultivers and now seedlings it is getting to be more than I can handle alone so something has to go lol
