Yes, it's amazing, she can make a cabbage look better than a rose. I thought Golden Celebration was very well done but, since I'm a passionate collector of Chinese antique porcelain, the painting with the large red and white vase is probably my favorite, if only I could remove the rather garish zinnia in the right forefront. She must be considered quite good to command those prices. I really enjoyed this.

Love it! Love the collection and the pole accent. The guy is probably taking the chicken home for dinner. Even roosters sometimes become capon. Great idea about getting similar frames at Goodwill. I'm eventually going to do a few walls like this (well maybe not quite as eclectic) but I will need to perhaps re-frame some art, so scouring Goodwill for frames is a great idea. But knowing me, there will be some funky, kitschy art inside the frame and then I will just be right back where I started, trying to figure out a way to incorporate THAT into my decor. On second thought, maybe better just get a plain frame at the local big box . , ,

showing a picture of the room is going to be of no help because the wall color is changing and all my furniture is going. so I need to base this off the actual measurements of the dimensions of that particular wall ( there will be no other art next to it) so the amount of pieces I chose and the dimensions of the art makes sense for that space.

For me, they remind me of German Romantic painters of the 19th Century, who were influenced by German Romantic authors of the late 18th and early 19th Centuries - my favorite period of German literature. This week I received a copy of "The Fair Haired Eckbert" [Der Blonde Eckbert] by Ludwig Tieck, one of my favorite authors of this period. I do like Novalis (aka Georg Philipp Friedrich Freiherr von Hardenberg) better, but they are very similar. I read all of the German Romantic authors in German when I was getting my degree in German, but recently I have found English translations, which I also find interesting. The Ludwig Tieck book is signed and numbered by the artist who did illustrations for this edition. A few years ago (10 or 12), I found a copy of Die Nachtwachen des Bonaventura, which may also have been written by Ludwig Tieck, since Bonaventura was a pseudonym, and no one know for sure who the real author is. "Novalis" was also a pseudonym, but everyone knew who it was. The copy of Nachtwachen [Night Watches] that I bought was published by the Edinburgh Press much earlier. I always wanted an English translation of this because it was a bit surreal, and I was not sure that what I understood it to mean was correct. It was also illustrated - either wood cuts or lino.
