I don't really have many plants this year. Hopefully next year it'll be better. I would like to share what little I have though:

These are flowers from my Rose of Sharon bush? It has pink, lavender, and white colored blooms on the same bush and blooms non-stop for a really long time.

Sunny Knock-Out Rose still blooming and budding. It's been blooming every since I planted it this summer. I love the colors and the fragrance of this knock-out rose bush:

Bloom from my Nanho Blue Butterfly Bush. It doesn't seem to be getting much bigger than when I planted it this year, but it continuously puts off blooms. Maybe next year it'll grow?:

and if you've already seen this hosta bloom in the "one plant that wow'd you" post, too bad...you're going to see it again...lol...

That's all I've got for now. Hopefully the mums I purchased from Bluestone will put on a show soon and I can share those with you as well. Thanks for looking...catch ya later!

My MIL loved Rose of Sharon. One of her sons took a few cuttings from my FIL's largest shrub and transplanted them at their grave site.

Love the color of your Nanho Blue. How big is the bush? I was thinking about one for next year and I like that it's supposed to stay more compact.

What a great 'jungle' you have going there, pitimpinai! It has grown a lot since the last time I saw photos. Some of my hostas are in too much sun too. I need to move them. I don't understand how your Annabelle Hydrangea is upright, mine has been on the ground since mid June. All that rain and not enough sun. That Hosta in front of it is huge! I have a lot growing in my front, but you have me beat by a mile. [g] I think our front yards might be the same size. I still have some grass. :-) Your clematis look wonderful and I love that 'Betty Corning'. I didn't know it was fragrant. About your roses....I almost ripped out mine last year, they were so bad. I cut them down to stubs in late June, just to get rid of the awful foliage while I was waiting for someone to dig them out for me. They came back looking pretty good for the rest of the summer, so I left them alone, even though they never bloomed. I was given some advice from a friend who also gardens organically, that she uses organic fertilizer and alfalfa meal in the spring and then after the first flush of bloom. So I did that and added my own compost to the mix and the roses did very well this year and I have an abundant rebloom going on right now, with very healthy foliage. I couldn't find alfalfa meal, so I got pellets. .... I think the trellis that you found at a plant swap are so pretty! Very delicate looking. Iris ensata, 'King Pete' are pretty and your feverfew are so cute. Do they get away from you at all? Well, what fun to take a tour! Your garden is as magical as I remember. You must be getting a lot of pleasure from it this year. :-)

Whoops, didn't realize this thread had been added to! Karen, I posted about your tray on the other thread but if you want an opinion on the beads please take a pic showing another tray scape. Ya know how we love pics! :-) Kathleen, this is such a coincidence - the blog you posted is one I recently discovered thru another blog. For anyone who loves blogs this is one I recently discovered: http://thepassionatehome.blogspot.com/ Then found this one from there: http://janisgurney.blogspot.com/ Then to the one you posted. These 2 are both Canadian blogs and the first has a shop in a city we occasionally visit so I'll check it out this spring when we travel again. The other blogger makes things from silver objects and sells them in the other blogger's store. Also the lady with the store posted one of my pics I put out on the 'net on her blog!!! Link below. Small world. Thanks Punk! I have lots of other silver things that I'm thinking about using in vignettes and I'll post when I do. Love the colors! My DD has the same idea but in pinks. I posted a pic of her dorm room here last year that I took when visiting further into the semester. My kid actually had the neatest area in the room. You see, she slept on top of her comforter so that she didn't have to make the bed every morning. lol A little eccentric, can't imagine where she gets that from:). DD was in a 3 dorm with a study suite across the hall. DD has the same lamp as your DD's, only different colors. We didn't buy curtains either. DD and her roommates went out shopping during the first few days before classes started for last minute additions. I think (I hope) DD will be paring back significantly this year as she will be in a 2 room with no suite. Also, I am NOT dragging all that extra stuff home again at the end of her Spring semester. Kids seem to "collect" more stuff once they get to school. They find that they need this or that, said things add up significantly by the end of the year! We spent the better part of last summer getting DD ready for freshman year. Such a special time, exciting and yet bittersweet. How many hours from home will she be? DD is just about 2 hrs. Not too far, not too close either. I can't imagine trying to send all of that half way across the Country. Has your DD been assigned her roommate yet? DD didn't "meet" hers online until after August 1st last year. We did most of our shopping at BBB and Target. Thanks for sharing. It won't be long before school starts!

natal: I also love the Rose of Sharon bushes. I dug up a few sprouts from under this rose of sharon in the summer of 2008:

and here's what the sprouts look like this year:

It already reaches every bit of 5.5 to 6 ft tall and has been covered in blooms for most of the year.

As far as the Nanho blue bfly bush, it was just planted July 4th weekend, so it hasn't got much bigger than what it was when I get it. Approx. 2 ft tall, by maybe 3.5 to 4 ft wide. But the majority of the branches lay towards the ground. There are maybe 2 or 3 branches on each bush that are standing "sort of" upright. Not sure if this is normal or not for a butterfly bush, but that is all I'm getting out of it this year so far. Here's some pics to show you what I mean:

Oh that butterfly bush will grow like crazy next year! Youll love it even more. Very nice start to your garden!! I have a blushing bride rose of sharon that was 6inches tall last year when i bought it. This year its 4foot tall and so pretty i cant wait for it to grow up!!

They are pretties! I love that hosta, now I have to go back to the other post and see if you gave the name.

Rose of Sharons are wonderful shrubs. They bloom and look good no matter the weather. I had the attack of the killer Japanese Beetles all season and they are still blooming and looking good.

Very nice photos! I love my rose of sharon. Such a nice reliable shrub in the garden. What zone are you in? I really like that Sunny knockout rose but I don't find them to do too well in my zone.

Gldno1, the hosta is H. plantaginea. Late-blooming with large flowers and a very beautiful smell.

Thanks gldno and tyme2dig. thyme2dig...I'm in Z6KY. So far (knocking on wood) it seems to be doing great. Not sure how well it will overwinter. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Rose of Sharon are like weeds around here. I swear I must chop down over a dozen every summer. That said, I leave a lot of them because they are very nice. The forest that backs up to my yard is edged with them and I remember when I first saw them bloom... sooo pretty.
