Hello, I just found this forum much to my delight and have a couple of questions I'm hoping experienced fig growers can help with. I have 3 naturally dwarf fig trees started from cuttings from my FIL tree, unknown variety, one in the ground, one in half whiskey barrel and one still in 5 gal pot. I'd be interested in knowing what kind of soil you use growing in pots and your fertilizing schedule and what kind you recommend. The tree in the whiskey barrel is about 4 ft. tall and the leaves were going a pale green so I just gave it a good soaking of worm casting tea and the new leaves are coming out a nice dark green, the tea is all I've used but will supplement with something else if advisable. The tree in the ground is staying about 2 ft. tall after being in that location for a year, I'm almost afraid to fertilize it at all as it's still so small. Any advice? Thanks.
