broken tag - can you help with a name?

I bought this today and the tag is broken. It just says "Hem. Sarah Saw......" It has a lot of qualities I really like - crinkley edge, diamond dust, gold braid, mid rib. It is a bright tangerine orange with a much lighter mid-rib.

But if you could help with a name, I would appreciate it!

Well, that name doesn't ring a bell, looks a bit like Orange Velvet to me. Stamens look a bit dark though. Hope you find a name, very pretty bright one

I get my labels from http://www.pettags4less.com/. They are engraved aluminum pet tags which I have them engrave as Hosta Little Treasure or Heuchera Midas Touch etc. I get the black shield or black heart shaped labels. They come with tiny keyrings. I then use either stainless steel skewers that I've bent the loop on so the key rings stay put or the green vinyl-coated plant supports that I've bent the ring downward on to keep the keyrings in place. Every day, pet tags 4 less runs a special on one of their shapes. Those are the ones I get, when they are suitable for long hosta names. That's how I ended up with hearts and shields.

Polly, I tried to email you earlier, but apparently it didn't go through, and then I was away. I checked the AHS database, and they don't have any daylilies registered starting with "SARAH SAW..." There are 45 SARAHs so I didn't take a close look at all of them, but none of them seemed similar to "SAW..." Take a browse if you want; the search link is below.

Well thanks everyone for trying, but this has now become a real mystery LOL!

I will give the nursery a call later today and see if they can help

Sorry I don't have any suggestions either. Even tried a search on Tinkers by putting the word orange in the database search along with *sara* and *sarah* with no luck.

It is a very pretty daylily and I'm sure you will love it without a name. I have a couple of NOID's that I wouldn't give up for the world and a few named ones that I'm ready to ditch!

Mystery solved.

It is an unregistered seedling. The nursery I was at got all the daylilys from a hobby hybridizer last year. Seems the elderly gentleman had passed and his heirs decided to let the nursery have all the plants since the farm was going to be razed for a new development.

So this is one of the seedlings that this hobbyist had created, with absolutely no parentage or other info....

I'm still glad I have it though, fun to know the story and I will happily grow it on. Who knows, I may even do some dabbing with it! LOL!
