Plans change!

Since my 401k is in the tank and the economy is so bad my traveling time is on hold. We will travel to California over Christmas. My wife and I will just kick back in land locked Kansas City and enjoy the winter.

The new island is moving forward...it is almost complete with the exception of ground covers and companion plants. All of the conifers in the new area are transplants from other areas of my garden.

Included in this island are as follows:

Pinus mugo 'Carsten's Wintergold'

Taxus baccata 'Watnong Gold'

Picea abies 'Kellerman's Blue Cameo'

Picea abies 'Hillside Upright' Only puts on 1 inch of growth a year???? I don't know what's going on. It should stay small forever at this growth rate.

Juniperus communis 'Green Carpet'

Ulmus parviflora 'Hokkaido'

Cedrus deodara 'Snow Sprite'

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Sungold'

Cotoneaster horizontalis 'Cheney'

Picea abies 'Perry's Gold'

Juniperus conferta 'All Gold'

Picea glauca 'Pixie'

Pinus cembra 'Pygmaea

Also included is a photo of a new free flowing area with brick borders I put in last week. There is much to be done here. With winter on the door step I will wait until next spring to finish.
