Heck, I just have the common orange Butterfly Weed. In fact I just planted lots and lots of them afew days ago in my redone Tower Square Garden. Your lilies and iris are really pretty too. JULIE NEWMAR looks perfect, I don't see any splotchies there. Last year we had the most rain all spring ever here and lots of daylilies were splotchy the entire season that were not splotchy before. We will see what they look like this year.

A lot of my daylilies are not opening well either. We get a little bit of rain every day - just enough to splotch up daylilies and made crabgrass grow, but not enough to do the plant roots any good. None of my double are opening right and the ones with ruffly edges are taking a hit. The narrow petaled ones are doing fine though.

My favorite seedling of yours is the one with the watermarked eye. I like the color and shape of that one. Your other plants look like they are loving the rain. Your Japanese irises are just stunning!

It is disappointing when you have waited so long for a bloom and it turns out splotchy. And not just a little splotch either!!

I love the Japanese irises, but have never grown them. I think they are prettier than the bearded irises.

Julie Newmar is very pretty, but my favorite is that 6th pic, the pink orphan:)

All of your seedlings are wonderful, but I really love the UNK parents seedling. Beautiful color!
I only have the orange butterfly flower also. Do you have any other colors? The orange grows wild here on the sides of the road and I had dh dig up some last year. They are starting to bloom now.
Sum & Substance is one of my favorite hostas. I love the hydrangea in the background. Is that an oakleaf? I didn't realize there were different varieties. I like your's much better than mine.
The japanese iris are gorgeous. Just got my first one last year and was bummed to discover the blooms only last a day on those also. Are your's planted in the shade? Mine is still in the pot as I'm not sure where to plant it yet.
I feel your pain with the splotchiness. I have it here too. We have had heavy rains about every other day the last week. I think we're supposed to have more today. I'm seeing a lot of my daylilies opening with a wild form. They are bigger blooms, but just don't have the same shape as last year. And that bums me out also. Specifically - Wild Cherry Wine. Much larger flower, but not nearly as pretty.

Doesn't look like a mess to me Ellie! I've been through your garden and can visualize the beauty! If you ever get through this way again you might not recognize my place....LOL
I have been SO BUSY! I FINALLY have a 10 foot deer fence up around a huge garden that was not here when you visited, the green house was moved over here, etc. Landscape much different and fixing to clear out my driveway hillside to make room for seedlings. Anyway, I'll get some pics up of what's blooming, until then I get to enjoy looking at yours and every one elses! I am really anticipating seeing some of these seedling pics....especially the lavenders and purples as they mature for you....SO MANY FOR YOU TO BE PROUD OF!

Rita, I ordered the Hellow Yellow Butterfly from one of the garden places in Mi. I don't remember the name but you could google it. I've had it for several years..Look at Debra's Julie Newmar..mine's piteous!! I have orange Butterfly weed that has a red eye and I have some side of the road weed too! I like them too and the butterflies love them...

Debra, I suspect that dl is from Splendid touch but don't know for sure. She does have a good form, color and the watermark that make her pretty. Yep, the other flowers and weeds are loving the rain..

Vickie, the pink orphan is the best of this bunch, so far. I have another very similar dl that's 3 or 4 years old that is a beauty too! I like the J Iris too but they are quite tall.. The others didn't bloom!!

Michelle, my Japanese Iris last several days..They are planted in filtered sun. They get full morning but partially shadied in the afternoon..The Hydrangea has an oak leaf but is a hybrid call Harmony!! It was discovered in South Alabama at an old homeplace about 50 years ago. The pic doesn't do it justice because the blooms can get as big as your head and the bloosoms are so thick, you can barely get a finger forced through.
It rained a bit this morning and we are expecting heavier rain this afternoon. I love the rain but don't like the splotches! Yuck!!!

I wondered what you had been up to Nancy! I bet it looks dreamy there now. It looked good the last time I was there!. I have a small greenhouse but no shelves yet. A couple of my daughters bought it for me last Nov for my b'day. I wish I had had it several years ago!! Waiting patiently for picture!! BTW, I got something Marvelous from you when you got it new. Mine is Ballroom Waltz..

Not quite dreamy yet Ellie. Do you mean I sent you home with Ballroom Waltz instead of Something Marvelous? I have never owned Ballroom Waltz. I am attaching my photo of Something Marvelous from last year as it has not bloomed yet this year.

Nancy, I think your is wrong too. It isn't at all like the description on Tinkers.I have an old picture on there that turned out to be BW so I am having it removed.. You got these new from the vendor and I got a piece of that one. The wrong one was sent, I think.. I had BW from someone a few years ago and have them now planted together. Ellie

Thanks for the info Ellie. My japanese iris was sitting in full sun with the daylilies. The person I bought it from said it needed full sun. It started withering by the 2nd day. But it really was extremely hot those days too. I'll plant it in a part shade location.
Where could I get the hydrangea Harmony? I'd love to see a bigger picture of that. I think it's gorgeous! Your description sounds wonderful too.

Tis true Ellie, A lot of what we had traded were new to me the year you showed up. Nevertheless, my pick of Something Marvelous sure looks like Browns Ferry Gardens picture of it. I've found tinkers to have wrong information more than once too! Check out the pic on Browns Ferry Gardens website of Something Marvelous. I do not think my photo looks like Ballroom Waltz. Yours are now growing together, are all the blooms the same? I'm quite confused now....LOL...Like that is something new? Hehehehe
