Screen/deer resistant and drought tolerant?

Hi everyone,

I am looking to plant an evergreen screen in between a board fence and a gravel road that is approximately 750 feet long and on the far side of our 10 acres. I need something that will be deer resistant (lots of hungry deer here!) and drought tolerant - my hose cannot reach that far. Anything would need to be relatively tall - higher than 8 feet would be great. The area will be in full sun.

My searches have brought up Norway Spruce, White Pine, Eastern Red Cedar, Arb - Green Giant. I cant find any sources for the Eastern Red Cedar - except digging them up out of the fields - but I hear they are difficult to transplant due to the long tap root.

I have found a bunch of Techny arb's at a local big box store - but I have heard the deer really like to eat them.

I am also thinking of planing ornamental grasses along part of the border -

Any thoughts, suggestions?
