Question about May Night Salvia

Well actually two questions. Several of mine are totally splayed out. Is that an indication that they are too large and need to be divided...that the soil isn't right...or just what happens with this plant?

I also thought I had to deadhead this plant to get the rebloom. However when I was doing this tonight I noticed that new blooms were already forming. So have I been deadheading for nothing? I actually think the spent blossoms are pretty and would rather leave them unless it would diminish future blooming. Thanks! wig
