honeycrisps apple tree from miller nurseries
Comments (1)Grape, I got an email from Gurney's Nursery that said free shipping and 15% off on site wide for three days. Honeycrisp is 28.04. No shipping fee. Here is a key code from my email 0523763. I am not sure if this beat the Miller price on Honeycrisp. Everyone is welcome to use it if this help lower the price. Good luck. Comments (43)OK, we're now on the third year of the honeycrisp and there are no apples. It got only a few blooms, but no fruit developed. Meanwhile, the snow apple, which was purchased as a polinator, has a number of apples. I haven't fertilized any of my fruit trees (a peach and two cherries in addition to the apples). Maybe this is the problem with the honeycrisp. The cherries aren't producing, either, but I didn't expect them to this soon. The sweet one was decimated by japanese beetles last year and the sour is a standard not a dwarf or semi-dwarf so I expect it's got more years of growing before it produces fruit. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that and should be doing something to encourage fruiting (besides spraying, which we are doing for the first time this year). This is an extremely helpful forum. Thanks to everyone for their input. Caryl...See MoreHoneycrisp apple trees on Bud 118
Comments (12)I have a single Honeycrisp on M26, and it is definitely a non-vigorous tree, which so far seems really nice for my small orchard. Very little pruning so far required. It has, however, grown very large, high-quality apples. I am extremely pleased with the fruit quality. It has also resisted any scabbing on the leaves, but a few apples did have some depressed black spots near the blossom end which is either scab or I don't know what. This tree is becoming my favorite, at least for the earlier season non-keepers....See MoreCopper Spray Kocide on Honeycrisp Apple trees
Comments (0)With the trees slowing down now, I gave a nice spray application to my MM106 Honeycrisp apple trees. The job looks good, covered all areas: rootstock, trunk, leaves. Anyone have any comments? I will only do this one application....I have read copper is phytotoxic to apples during a growing season....See Morebeegood_gw
