Scottrell...I just finished the Master Gardener class in Osceola county this past Dec. It was such a rewarding program & I learned so much. I wish I had done it years ago. Don't know why I waited so long. I have been playing in the dirt practically all my life & I'm a senior citizen
(gosh, I can't believe I said that) but there were still many things for me to learn. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Hey Scott congratulations. The St Lucie MG's are a wonderful friendly bunch. Their plant sales are my favorites. If I had the time I'd be borrowing a friend's address and taking the class there.
You are going to find lots of MGs here.

Felix, I qualified for the senior discount twenty years ago. Guess that makes me old in years but I sure don't feel it. How I feel is my measuring stick & this spring chick has gotta go scratch around in the dirt.:)

I agree the St Luciens have quite a great group.I am in Vero and our group is much much smaller but we are getting there!
I too do not miss the St Lucie plant sales.You do not know how fortunate you are to have such great facilities!!! your MG friends to the north of you are so very jealous. We are in a vintage building with downtown parking(if you can find some)Our computers are so old they need to be in an antique store! But we are here to help others and that is what counts.Good luck!

Hi Everyone! I am hapy to read all this good stuff! One of the reasons I am interested in the MG program (aside from being obsessed with all things that grow and am thirsty for knowledge) is that I am hoping to meet people who share the same passion I do. Would any of you look at me like I was crazy if I had a baggie full of rich dark brown dirt, or pockets bursting with dead flowerheads?

Sharon, If I saw you with a bag of dirt and pockets of dead flowerheads, I would think, "That's my kind of woman". I keep baggies in my purse for bits and pieces of plants that I hope will root. When I go to the garden dept. of stores, I clean their floor of broken twigs and anything else that looks promising. Yeah, I know, lots of people look at me like I'm crazy but ask me if I care. NOT!
