deer damage, anyway to encourage more flowering scapes?

The deer jumped the fence and ate the tops of half of my daylily scapes. I am of course very sad this morning and have only myself to blame since I didn't spray the deer spray. Now that I have sprayed the entire back and the front, is there a way that I can trim the scapes so that new buds will form on the same scape? Or can I prune the scape so that the same fan will send up another scape? Thanks for your help!
