Time to check the Mail......

Some established some new.....it's fun to walk past them all. Had a very slight drizzle early this morning....just enough to dampen the blooms and foliage....nothing to speak of in the ground...:(

Once a friend of mine sent me a Christmas gift but it never came, until 6-9 months later! It was a homemade fruitcake. I was swapping with Kiwi who's in New Zealand and my package never got to her. Weeks later it showed up back at my house, pretty mangled. I had to resend it to her. I've had a few Netflix movies disappear when I mailed them back. I was putting them in my mailbox and putting the flag up but I only did it very rarely, usually I drop them in the drive thru mail drop in front of our post office. So, I got kinda suspicious that everytime I left them in our mailbox here at the house they would turn up missing. I quit doing that, in fact I only put mail that doesn't belong to me out there anymore. Then about two months ago I was leaving work and dropped my Netflix movies in a curbside box in Lexington and one turned up missing again. I hate getting the ex's mail. He's never lived in my house and I just find it really annoying that they are sending his crap to me.

My bank hasn't sent the checks back for years, either. The scams mentioned by dreamgarden predate Check 21 by at least 30 years or so. (That's how long I've had a checking account.) The fact that my name, address, phone number, signature appear on my checks, that's been true for 30 years as well. They have nothing to do with Check 21. And in thirty years I've never had need for a "recredit," whatever that is. DH spent 13 years in the banking biz, and he never heard of it either. The articles mentioned do recommend balancing your checkbook every week, and actually examining your bank statement, to make sure that all is in order. A very wise move, if one decides to continue having a checking account. I might add examining your credit card statement as well. Some identity thieves take advantage of the fact that folks give their CC statements a cursory glance and make a payment to the company, and keep their illicit purchases small. Oh, I work part time at a department store...Please do sign your credit cards, or write "See I. D." in the space provided. You wouldn't believe how many people don't. The rational is that then someone will have a copy of your signature, (as if they couldn't find that in your wallet!) I actually saved some money using a CC, when my internet service provider went out of business. Had I written a check for services, I'd have been out of luck. When I called my credit card company, they refunded a pro-rated portion of the charge based of the service I didn't receive. I was pleased to find out that they weren't all heartless. I was surprized that they did that for someone who pays off her balance monthly, (so they make no money from me)

Banana Moon has great diamond dusting and a beautiful metallic edge..I'll take a pic in full and sun and evening later...close up so you can see these traits clearly...

Pink Blue Beauty....I'll take this one..again..later in the morning..it had not opened or achieved it's full colour ..early this morning....

Graceful Eye dosen't have the greatest form..but what beautiful soft lavender colour and a gorgeous eye...IMHO

Now, this is the fun part of summer! Okay, Rick, the mail comes six days a week, so we'll have something to come here for every day(almost)!

Is that the new camera? Pictures are so clear and beautiful! I just love it when they poly, don't you! I've had one have four petals and three sepals for two days now...I'm not sure what you call that! (a mistake??!)

I bet your mailman/person loves stopping at your box!

Wow, Rick what awesome blooms you have in your garden. I absolutely love Neal Berrey -- just got my first bloom on a plant I planted late in the season last summer.

I love love love graceful eye. It's a beauty.

Beautiful blooms. My favs would have to be Spacecoast Double Edge and Silken Touch for the first group and Neal Berry for the second.

OH MY GOODNESS, Never seen so many beautiful blooms.I would be making a trip to the mailbox dozens of times a day.With beauty like this,who needs mail anyway.I love them all and love looking at them.

Wow Rick, you've been a busy boy!!!!! As usual, gorgeous blooms and photos....how do you find the time to take so many photos, resize them, and get them all posted....especially this week? What with the "Big Event" coming up this Saturday?
I'll come back to this thread when I have more time....then let you know which ones to add to my "list"!!!!! LOL

So many gorgeous daylilies here I'm having trouble picking favorites! I've been thinking about getting Neal Berrey. Could you tell me why it's your favorite dip?

Neal Berrey is Stunning! It's scape height is perfect, the book says 18 inches...no way.... mine is at least 24 inches on the shortest scape I measured this morning and 28 inches on the tallest. In a clump it is just flat out gorgeous! The colours are so clean and pure. It polys often, just adding more beauty to it, if that is possible. The substance is wonderful and the soft folding edges make it appear to be sculpted. The foliage is alway clean and a very nice dark green. It is also low , making the scapes appear even taller. When it is in mass bloom more folks stop and look at it and go "Wow" then on almost any other clump I have. It is surrounded by much newer, more expensive,Tet's...no matter...it still draws your eye, right to it. It is fairly long blooming and has a decent bud count. IMHO...it just grabs you, when you walk by a clump of it. It is just "PURDY"! what can I say...............

Just when I think I've picked some favorites from this thread, more pics keep appearing! But don't stop, this is a wonderful dilemma to have. I need to go look up the stats on 'Storm Surf,' 'Renegade Lady,' and 'Elizabeth Ann.' So many lovelies, so little garden. BUT, I'll have my FFO on an established daylily tomorrow, so I can join the posting parade at last.

Rick, I am so enjoying your parade of blooms...my bloom season is winding down now...so I'm depending on you and the other northern members to supply me with my daily "dl fix"!!! Jan, I'm enjoying Rick's pics too...but I'm on the other end. My bloom season has just begun. I've had 3 blooms so far other than Stella and Citrina ( or what ever that species is called)

Jan....You know you are most welcome...I won't be putting up so many the next few days...but then I will get back to it. I'm going to "Float Daylily Blooms" at each table...might look neat...course with all those Fancy Florist Flowers...well mine might not show much...LOL.

Thank you Bloomin Crazy...:) It should be a grand celebration....I'll post more on another thread...this one is getting too long.....
